I guess when you are out of towner like me, such a quaint warung that has live music and at such reasonable prices - you will be totally wowed.
Totally wows I was because it brough back a lot of memories of the backyard eateries that usedc to exist when I lived in a mixed kampong. Yes I was probably one of the last. That when you cycled out at 3 pm and you get a lot of epok-epok or goreng pisang or rojak etc being served from the front porch of the Malay families who lived along side my old village in changi. Ah the memories....But enough of that.
more about pokok Cerry and their offerings... please get their fried chicken nasi lemak!!! add the chicken add an egg add the sambal because all of it is great!!! The nasi lemak alone is quite a fantastic treat and not ridiculously priced at all! And when you do go there in a group, please be greedy and order an exytra order of lontong to share because this lontong is fantastic .... why? because it had achieved that immaculate balance between the right amount of lemak and right amount of watery vs the right amount of vegetables vs the right amount of serunding!! its just perfect!!
My only complaint is that you are never able to get a parking space because it is horrendous.... Best way? go there buy and bungkus for home but then you will miss out on the live music there at the warung... hahahah we cant have everything but such is life isn't it....
Follow up review: This past weekend I was there at PC Nasi lemak and I was lucky enough to get my friend chicken when it was freshly out of the cooking wok. I must say that the best time to eat fried chicken is when it is nearly scalding your mouth 😂
It’s still as good as ever and this time I didn’t gather enough people to share the lontong but from the looks of it from the next table it’s still as delicious.
When you go where the locals go you can never go wrong....
Read moreIt's overpriced. We have 3 plates of Nasi Lemak Ayam and a bowl of Soto and some drinks for 4 person. It cost us RM50 for the whole meal. I'm not sure if they server is scamming us but provided the fact that I know we can get a plate of Nasi Lemak Ayam for less than RM8 somewhere, it's just pure ridiculous to set a price that high. It's nothing that amazing honestly when it comes to flavour although the fried chicken is totally awesome when it's freshly fried. But like I said, there's much better place to dine at if such people exists to hike up the price...
Read moreGood location, about 20 to 25 meters away from the road, clean and tables arranged well following the SOP. Food was average, nasi lemak was nice and the nasi lemak rice had a very distinctive taste very different then the usual nasi lemak rice. Tasted like nutty taste.....Price a bit on the higher side, i ate nasi lemak with an average size of fried chicken plus teh O limau panas.....cost me Rm 9, close to having lunch...
