The Substitutes HQ — Restaurant in Johor

Staying in the neighborhood and was going to eat at another restaurant. This place caught my eye. I checked out the menu and many items appeared to be over price. I saw the black pepper diced hamburger and said what the heck.The first place in Malaysia I had seen a hamburger. The black pepper sauce was good. There is heat in this burger. The fries were seasoned fries and were good but only 5 total. The meal was small but good. I ordered the Nachos to try them. They came with the same dice black pepper on the burger, mayo, lettuce, cheese and red bell peppers. Small size but good. If the portion sizes were larger it would...

Nice and cozy place to eat and chill. The interior is nice and the ambience is great. Order the grill chicken and boston fish & chips. the grill chicken is nicely marinated, the black pepper sauce is nice, the mash patatoes is ok, the salae is nice as for the boston fish & chips, its crunchy but in a good way. The dip sauce is nice (sweet and sour)

The drinks ordered a senorita buzzer ( a mix of soda, cranberry, lime, mint) HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

OVERALL the place, food and drinks are nice. Recommended to come over.

Hey so, I was actually really surprised with how much the staff care about their customers here, even at some higher end restaurants the staff didn't care as much as the staff did here. The environment is nice too, it's some what one of those "hipster" restaurants but you know it's run by a family rather than a hipster.

The foods really worth and tastes great too. I had the pulled lamb burger, it really surprised me I didn't expect it to be THAT good. Highly recommended place...
