Tucked away inside EVO Mall, A&W is sadly one of the mall’s few bright spots. To be fair, the mall itself doesn’t have much going for it—aside from A&W and the AEON, there’s little reason to linger here. Yet even so, diners seem to bypass this branch almost entirely. When I visited, the dining room was nearly empty: just two other guests eating in, and two Grab drivers swinging by for pickups.

Now, as someone who despises noisy crowds, I secretly loved the peace and quiet. But as a food lover, I couldn’t help but feel bad for the staff and the store. This place deserves more customers, and here’s why.

The Food

Burgers: Simple, straightforward, and actually tasted like beef. Not all fast food can make that claim.

Wings: Coated with a sauce that had real kick and balance, not just sugar or grease.

Fries: Nicely seasoned, a welcome change from bland or overly salted varieties elsewhere.

Fried chicken: The highlight. Crisp when fresh, and seasoned with a red spice blend that carried a subtle curry-like note—unique, aromatic, and addictive.

Admittedly, the consistency can waver. Across three visits, I noticed that the fried items sometimes lacked crispness, arriving slightly soggy. But even then, the flavor shone through. That’s a mark of quality seasoning: when it holds up even against less-than-perfect execution.

The Brand & The Drawback

Part of the issue might be brand perception. A&W isn’t a giant even in the U.S., and it leans heavily on its root beer identity—a love-it-or-hate-it soda. Personally, I’m not a root beer fan, so that angle doesn’t do much for me. But thankfully, the food here stands strong enough on its own.

The Atmosphere

Empty, clean, and uncrowded. For introverts, it’s paradise. For the restaurant, it’s a problem. Still, that quiet charm makes it a great option if you want a fast, filling meal without the chaos of more popular spots.

Final Thoughts

A&W EVO Mall is better than its reputation, and better than its foot traffic suggests. The flavors are bold, the menu has range, and while execution isn’t flawless, it consistently satisfies. If you’re in EVO Mall, skip the crowd-pleasers and sit down here instead—you’ll likely walk away full and happy.

Ordered my food through shopee. Receive the food with missing item and incorrect order. Congratulations A&W Evomall for having the worst service ever. This is not the first time i got missing order from u guys. But this time its above my limit to be quite with A&W Evomall.

1. Missing Item I didnt get my Black Pepper Mashed Potato

2. Incorrect Item I ordered "Double" Combo but i get only 1 patties. I don't know how your staff misslook over things like this. Is it hard to make the order right? Is it hard to count from 1 to 10? Is it hard to double check the customer order before sending to the customer? Do you know the different between 1 and 2 patties?

3. Website error Your own website cant be loaded to make a complaint. Is this the way you guys avoid getting complaint from your customer? How much terrible can u guys be?

4. Customer service hotline or other platform to contact A&W Evomall contact number are not available. Why bother putting it in your website? Wow A&W Evomall, u have made 3 mistake in 1 order. So mang mistake, so little effort to change. I have try to find contact of HQ and other, all are not available. Is this how A&W run their bussiness?

In conclusion, goodbye. I know u dont mind losing just 1 customer, but remember. If u consistent to do like this, each day u will lose more. I even angry that i cant get any refund from your unresponsibble act. Please continue eat unblessing money A&W Evomall. Hope one day you get...

Classic fast food American restaurant, a famous place for it's signature Rootbeer float, American style burgers & fries, Waffle and ice-cream, not to forget it's Conney-dog. Most of the food price are resonable, not so cheap and not so expensive, suitable with the food portion and quantity. I love its cozy restaurant interior and beautiful menu provided. Located at EVO Mall, nearby Big Apple and The Manhattan Fish Market. Interior decorated very tidy and very clean. All seats are indoor and outdoor seating. All staff here at A&W are very friendly, cheerful and helpful, no issues while ordering meal because all of them seems well trained. Since A&W restaurant are very limited (rare), it is very greatful (and thankful) to have it at the heart of Bandar Baru Bangi. I hope A&W will continue to provide the deliciousness of it's...
