Secret Recipe @ AEON Bukit Tinggi, Klang — Restaurant in Klang Municipal Council

Their food and cakes, thankfully so far are somewhat reliable. But I believe most Malaysians would agree that in terms of getting most value from your hard-earned ringgit, Secret Recipe is quickly losing their grip for city dwellers to relish a meal with loved ones.

Their cakes are still a little too sweet and while it's slightly inexpensive compared to hipster cafe's cakes, we all know that their cakes are mass manufactured and informed customers are no longer buying their cakes for special occasions anymore.

Service-wise, it's a hit or miss here. There are times when we dine here, they can be really slow and inattentive. But the last time we came, they were pretty decent and gave us the warmth of Malaysian hospitality.

However, their biggest flaw is how dated the place is! Just a brief look at their furniture and you can tell how long since they've been around. The management ought to know that it's high time to refurbish this branch and give it a fresh appeal to entice people to patronize once more, like the branch...

I recently visited this branch to pre-order a birthday cake, and I had a fantastic experience thanks to Ms. Hidayah. Despite it being close to closing time and me asking plenty of questions, she was extremely patient, detailed in her explanations, and incredibly friendly throughout the process. Her professionalism and warm attitude truly stood out. Secret Recipe is lucky to have such a dedicated and outstanding staff member on their team.

This was a refreshing change compared to my experience at the Batu 9 Cheras branch, where I was given incorrect information and was brushed off impatiently as the staff went on to focus on other tasks. Had lunch here with grand-daughter yesterday. Ordered Jom Makan for 2 pax.

The Bolognese Chicken pasta tastes above average and portion is large. The Black Pepper Chicken is mildly spicy and tastes so-so.

The Pumpkin soup tastes delicious when served hot, while Mushroom soup is okay. Garlic herbs bread also alright but a bit burnt.

The drinks especially the Bandung Selasih is sweet and Iced Plum Lemon drink is normal. Should reduce sweetness on Bandung Selasih drink.

The Butterfly Lemon cheesecake is fresh and superb.

Overall, the price is slightly lower when compared to other cafes and service is great.
