When you walk into Bao bao cafe, you get a nice feeling - as if you are visiting a friend's home. The owners (I think) were doing their work on a table in front of the main counter and their huge 3 month old puppy is sat below the table. They greet you with friendly smiles and usher you in. Got to say the 1st floor dining didn't give me the same feel. In fact, it looked a bit bare. The 3 air cond units were barely enough to keep the place comfortably cool.

Overall, it was a pleasant dining experience. Service was attentive - you press the call bell and someone comes to you pronto. Food did not take long to come. Menu was eclectic. To those who have problems deciding, just flip to the "Bestsellers" pages!

Sukiyaki (with kampung chicken) was delicious. Ingredients were fresh, soup was light and they refilled the soup once. We liked the lamb too; it was nicely marinated and cooked to our requirement (medium). The soft shell crab on the pasta was crunchy. Pasta (aglio olio style) could have done with a bit more garlic. The mango salsa salad failed the test. For starters, the base of the salad should have a simple dressing say extra virgin olive with a squeeze of lemon. The mango salsa itself lacked oomph and got lost in the plain salad leaves.

We took away a slice of chocolate cake and bak chang. Cake was ordinary but the bak chang was very good.

There are many (pricey) dessert choices here. The cafe is a nice place to hang out. Will return to try some...

The wine chicken noodle doesn’t worth for the price I paid, taste not too bad but just normal. Anyway, i am actually fine to not giving a bad review for a cafe , as i wouldn’t want to pay a second visit here. However, the google replied from the cafe owner made me feel very unpleasant ! Owner keeps mentioning my car blocked his 4 parking lots ? Hello ? I am first time here and the parking very limited at ur place, how i know where can i park , i just park in front ur gate and not dare to park inside because i worry my car block ur space, maybe you need to put more tables or what during evening ??? your staff should guide me at the first place right? Even you asked me to remove car you not asking in a courtesy way just saying I blocked 4 parking lots. Ok, for me the staff service was okay just the owner. And owner also blaming our puppy bark on his customer. When the puppy bark we immediately shout it and stop it, but if u keep blaming on this please la do not put ur cafe as pet friendly i feel so kesian for...

Definitely coming back!

The yellow wine chicken noodle and the salted egg croissant were absolutely amazing. The soup in the noodle was amazing and I could tell that they cooked the noodle is the soup itself as the noodle is flavourful by itself. The croissant's salted egg center melts out of the bread when you cut it in the middle and the size is quite big. 5 out of 5 for these 2!

The salmon bellydon was not good though. It was cold-ish. The rice was cold and the flavour was somehow not salty enough. It lacked a certain kick and comfort to it.

The curly fries was ok. The portion is very generous and the curls were amazing. But it was overly salty. It had no dip to balance out the saltiness. I am thinking if you lessen the salt and have some Japanese mayo as a dip, that would reaply help and also go well with the theme of the restaurant.

Overall, quality of food and ingredients are tip top. A lot of thought had been put into how the dishes are excuted. Though there are some inconsistencies, I will be...

I recently visited BaoBao Cafe, a cozy and delightful spot that left a lasting impression on me. To start, I ordered the Salmon Rice Bowl, which was absolutely delicious. The salmon was fresh and tender, perfectly paired with the rice and side ingredients, creating a flavorful and satisfying meal. I also tried their signature coffee, which was rich, aromatic, and incredibly smooth—a must-try for coffee lovers. The ambiance of the cafe was another highlight. The decor is elegant yet welcoming, making it an ideal place to hang out with friends or enjoy some quiet time alone. The staff provided excellent service, being attentive and friendly, which made the overall experience even better. Overall, BaoBao Cafe is a fantastic spot worth recommending. From the food and drinks to the atmosphere and service, everything was top-notch. If you get the chance, don’t miss out on their signature coffee and Salmon Rice Bowl!

Their after service is the thing that makes the place memorable for me. Even though we had paid and it was raining, the staff still escorted us to our car holding umbrellas. It was a nice gesture which take customer service up to another level. Now lets talk about the food. Lamb chop: big portion but i dont quite enjoy the sweet sauce, but that's just me... Mushroom soup: pretty good Fish and chip: i like the fact that it wasnt oily and was lightly battered Petai fried rice: it's was unique and taste good but i would have preferred the dish to be accompanied by sambal or something Unagi fried rice: you can smell the aroma of the fried rice, recommended Complimentary soup: it would have tasted more flavorful if they added red dates and dried oyster to it (i'm just basing it on how my mum cooked it 🤣) Overall I enjoyed my time there. You can also join their membership for RM10 to enjoy RM2 pasta.
