Food and environment, everything was great, my first time ever taking beef, happy to have a server who is in red shirt, abit chubby (no offense, forgotten his name) with spec, served us well and explained to me which and how to cook to perfection, appreciate on that. Eating happily with my lovely gf and celebrated my birthday, happy birthday to me. Need to give this server a 5 stars.
Here comes the crazy part when it comes to payment, was ready to leave and make payment, asked the waiter where to pay and directed me to go downstairs (I did not hesitate and left to downstairs to look for cashier). I saw the omakase restaurant was closed so ask the staff outside the restaurant of where to make payment for buffet, he said should be at the buffet restaurant, the omakase staff then told to the buffet restaurant staff upstairs that I'm looking for a place to make payment.
There this short guy with white shirt and spec welcome me back by saying "congrats, you are number xxx who didn't make payment" I was shocked when he said that, i just kept quiet and wondering what else he wants to say to me. Then the old guy with white shirt and a spec as well, should be a manager / supervisor, (passby me when making payment) talk crap to his colleague through walkie talkie, "I didn't know they are leaving, impossible for me to always keep an eye on them". He just keep staring at me like I murder someone of him. This kind of attitude can be accepted as a supervisor / manager? I'm not spending RM30 at your shop, but a RM300 per pax.
HELLO! EXCUSE ME! I came up to make payment, you guys directed me to go downstairs, so I went. As a manager / supervisor, should be grateful due to your neglect, but not to talk shit with all your colleague about your customers. That old guy shouldn't be working at the place with such working attitude, investigate what happened first before you judge. Check at your CCTV that I'm looking for a place to pay when i was at the exit or ask your staff who works at omakase restaurant. Really hope not to see the two white shirt guy mentioned above on my second visit, such a disgrace to a...

I recently had the pleasure of celebrating my birthday at JPOT Japanese Yakiniku & Hotpot, a Japanese restaurant that truly exceeded my expectations. From the moment we arrived, the cozy ambiance and the feeling of dining under a starry night set the perfect mood for the evening.
The highlight of our meal was undoubtedly the premium selection of Wagyu beef. The restaurant offers an impressive variety, along with fresh seafood such as oysters, scallops, and prawns. What made the experience even more special was the outstanding service from Mr. Yap. He took the time to introduce each type of Wagyu and prepared the dishes accordingly, ensuring we could fully appreciate the flavors and textures of the beef at its best. His attention to detail and passion for hospitality made the dining experience truly unforgettable.
While the overall experience was fantastic, there are a few areas that could be improved. Using pearl spoons for caviar service would enhance the luxury experience, as metal spoons can affect the taste. Additionally, some minor touch-ups, such as refining the exit doorway to match the elegance of the entrance stairway, would further enhance the restaurant’s aesthetics. Lastly, keeping the menu updated with available dishes would help manage expectations and avoid any disappointments.
Overall, JPOT dining delivered an amazing dining experience with top-quality ingredients, expert preparation, and warm hospitality. I would highly recommend it for anyone looking for an indulgent Japanese meal. I’ll definitely be returning. PS I’m became...
Read moreWe came to this place after seeing so many ppl posting in XHS so we decided to give it a try. Me & my family had the RM258++ per pax wagyu beef package. Too be very honest, we find that it was overrated. When the meat arrived, it looked visually appealing, glistening under the grill’s glow.
However, the moment I took my first bite, my excitement was met with disappointment. The beef, instead of being tender and succulent, it was surprisingly tough and the greasy. The texture was far from the melt-in-your-mouth experience that we had anticipated. Each piece felt like a chore to eat, lacking the rich, buttery quality that defines true wagyu. We gave the dish a fair chance, trying different pieces and adjusting the seasoning. Yet, the result was the same—each bite was a letdown. And a big thing to highlight was the sukiyaki soup base, it was overly sweet. We raised this to the server and his feedback was the sukiyaki soup adjusted base on our Malaysian taste palette, which the taste are meant to be thick and flavorful. Sorry it wasn’t that case, as a Malaysian Chinese I don’t agree with his reasoning. We can only taste that it contains tonnes of sugar in it, the soup is lack of the soy umami taste to balance out the sweetness.
Anyway, once and for all and we will never...
