This is my third time dining here since they opened in May 2024. Relaxing, clean and cozy environment combined with food that is homey - what's not to like?!
I'll cut to the chase: Here are all the key items I would HIGHLY recommend based on my 3 visits eating different things:
MAIN DISH: Pork Lard Rice, Braised Pork Belly with Black Fungus, Ginger Scallion Duck, Pig Trotters in Vinegar, and even the Mala Ban Mian were all so tasty. SNACK/FRIED DISHES: Taro Coins (you can choose not to dip the condense milk if you don't want sweet), Sweet Potato Fries, and Fried Pork Ribs. DRINKS: any of the RM4.50 ones are pretty worth it since they give a large mug of it, like Red Nutmeg, Chrysanthemum, Luohan Guo etc. Otherwise, the kopi/teh are good too. For those who don't want drinks, their water comes with free refills.
I will say that I saw on their tables that they are bribing customers for reviews. They never push it or promote it like many other restaurants in KL, and I will say I 100% did not receive anything for this review as it was written before I noticed their signage on the table during a later visit. So please be aware that some people might be giving this place a good review because of the bribe, HOWEVER. I will say their food is legit and their dining environment & atmosphere is cozy. This place is legitimately good, and I will recommend those in the neighborhood to try them!
E-wallet accepted
[Disclaimer: I take pride in being a Local Guide and I put a lot of time into my reviews and will never write a 5 star review just because they gave me a bribe (also known as any discounts or free gifts). I will expose businesses that do this because it's unscrupulous and undermines the review system. They need to earn these reviews...
Read moreFood taste wise is good. But the eating utensils provided were not appropriate for the type of cuisine ordered, and has made the overall dining experience unenjoyable as it made the meal awkward and difficult to eat. The spoon is too big and thick to scoop the rice and put into the mouth. The pointy chopsticks u guys provided makes it difficult to pick or push any loose rice and grounded pork in and off the spoon. Why don't just use the smaller ceramic spoons and square chopsticks that is commonly used by most chinese restaurant? Also, the bowls were too small for the rice and the plates were too big for such little amount of side dish (one whole plate just for 2 thin slice of apple...really?).
Basically the choice of utensils feels gimmicky and redundant and only look pretty for presentation. These utensils if eat sushi and Japanese rice can lah, but Chinese food tak boleh lah. Your food is delicious, but do consider to keep things simpler...
Read moreRead good reviews about the food here so hubby and I decided to give it a try over the weekend. Customers reviews were indeed true. From taste to its calm ambience and cleanliness, it weren't disappointing. Great place to enjoy comfort food. Pork lard rice was good, not salty and had the right combination of ingredients, completing the meal with black bean soup. Salted pop corn chicken were juicy, and surprisingly had just the right saltiness. Overall, their meals brings out the right balance of food flavours, ingredients and portion.
Ambiance/atmosphere: 4/5 Service: 4/5 Price: Reasonable Food quality: 4/5 Food portion: 4/5 Parking: absolute nightmare. Park a little further and chances of getting a spot is higher Verdict: warrant...
