Out of 5. 1 edible. 1 ok. The rest was meh.
We liked the grilled tomato appetiser and the carbonara.
What we didn't enjoy:
We specified we don't like pepper and spices. Not sure why but waitress didn't warn us about the cauliflower. Note the Grilled cauliflower is a tad spicy. I also think they under-grilled the cauliflower. Tasted raw and tough.
Kurobuta pork chop was really tough. Tasted like ur normal pork chop or worse. Definitely not worth the premium when u can't even chew through the meat. We had a miserable 5% off that one dish (rm3 or 4) when complaining. ( i have no complaints about pepper in the papardelle, we went into this dish with our eyes open. but what i can't take is the toughness of the pork. I think Jay missed the point here. Irregardless imho not worth it.)
Tables were ultra small and tight. And if I was picky... the mains arrived before the appetizers. Service and kitchen ops could be better. Especially since your shop isn't that big.
Simply put. Don't think this place is worth the hype. I'd rather pay more for Valentina next door. It's probably 10% better than pento's and basil. But not worth a revisit. Pity since...
Read moreOur initial plan was to go to one of the restaurant nearby but it was full house. Therefore we decided to try this out as the store decoration looks good but unfortunately the dining experience was subpar.
Very heavy cooking smoky smells in the restaurant all the time. One of the pasta we ordered was undercooked and the other one was awfully overcooked. Not only that, the pork chop was also undercooked. The dish was returned immediately to kitchen. By the time it comes back again, the meat looks slightly better but it’s still undercooked on some parts.
The pasta was really bland. You expected more when “pasta” is on the store name but sadly this is not the case.
With the price I really expect better food, portion and dining quality.
The staff was trying to clear the table right after we put down our utensils. Giving a bad vibe like sort of trying to chase us away even though no one is waiting outside.
The only plus point during our visit will be the taste of the pork chop (the cooked part) and the 2 big scallops in the risotto. But these wasn’t enough to make up the whole...
Read morewas told this head chef was from another place call back alley pasta. and he now open his very own restaurant. you know what they say, never trust a skinny chef!
always enjoy open kitchen concept , ordered their gnocchi, steak pasta, arancini and 1 of the tomato base pasta. as for dessert we ordered their tirsmitsu
I particularly enjoyed the gnocchi with beef brisket a lot. I do however find their steak was just so-so but pasta is on point. perfect 5/5
im very impress with their own hand made pasta and the freshness of the tomato based puree they use.
since they're open kitchen concept the ventilation could b a lil better. your hair and cloths will b filled with food smell haha. (hence I give 4/5 on atmosphere)
everything else is perfect , friendly and attentive service and don't be shy to ask for recommendation. especially from the head chef. he gives excellent recommentions. it's a joy to watch how they cook and prepare the food.
the restaurant is small so do reserve your spot before going there
would definitely return to...
