Went to Brew House for dinner, it was my first time at this outlet. Have been to ther outlets and they have always been good. This one at Aurora is a real disaster.
The waiter that took our order appeared to be untrained. Our table ordered lamb and steak medium rare, we repeated it to him several times yet he still seemed confused.
When the food came, both lamb and steak was dry and overdone. We waved the waiter down and informed him that both the lamb and steak were supposed to be Medium Rare. The waiter basically told us it was our fault for not checking the order list before the the food came. This response to me is just unacceptable.
Since the waiter refused to take responsibility, we decided to accept the "medium well" done steak and lamb.... That was a BIG mistake. The steak was sooo dry that the meat stuck to the knife as I was cutting it. It was tough and difficult to eat. I stopped after two bites. The lamb was equally as dry.
We got the waiter again and informed him of the dryness of the steak and lamb. The waiter when to the kitchen and come back saying, "The Cook said its fine. Its NOT dry."
I was speechless. That waiter then with a impatient attitude asked if I wanted to order something else instead because the cook wasn't going to "fix" the dry meats they served us.
I understand that Brew House is not know for their steaks but other outlets have produced very good food with pleasant service. This experience left me speechless. I literally didn't know how to respond to the waiter and the "cook".
When I was paying for the food, I spoke to the manager about the experience and he said he would look into it. He offered dessert but at this point I just wanted to leave.

Staff needs to be trained. For goodness sake if you employ staff who are foreigners, at least train them the basics required of restaurant service/floor staff. Make sure they understand abit of English or Malay.
I asked for straw for my soft drink, repeated that twice; and the waiter a foreigner responded "set lunch no straw"!
2 persons in our group ordered same item, one of them had their order delivered right at the start; the other person who ordered the same food had to wait...not just 10mins; until all the rest in the group gotten their orders, eaten & finished, he still did not get his order!! And they were only 3 or 4 other tables at lunch besides our group of 14. Either someone in the kitchen did not understand the order or did not know how to count. They billed us for 15 pax when we asked for the bill. When this was queried as there was only 14pax of us, they took some time to sort out their mistake; had a short conference meeting among 4 floor staff (haha!) and took some time to sort that out.
oh & all the kitchen staff (except one) were wearing their mask under their chin!!! The waiter/floor staff serving our table was also happily wearing the mask under his chin until one of us told him to put his mask on properly. You are in the food industry; do the right thing & get your staff to mask up properly. Why bother to have a mask and wear it under the chin!?

Read moreFirst time came to this outlet which was newly opened last year. This is the closest outlet to my place so decided to give it a try for lunch. Food and service it was up to standard, we ordered 2 set lunch and the 2ns set came 35 minutes after we ordered and roughly 25 minutes after the 1st set was served. Brought this issue up 2 times with 2 different waiter and both asked me to wait.
On the third time I called the manager (I assume he's the manager since he's wearing a black shirt and he looks more auhoritize compared to others) and he promptly got it settled. Reason given was that the kitchen was not happy with the cheese baked katsu rice quality and had to redo it (not sure how valid was that reason). Anyhow the manager was great and even offered free refill for our drinks (carbonated drinks, not beer in case you're wondering). That's the only reason this was a 3 star review instead of a 1 star review. Probably just a glitch as I see other tables with 4-6 people getting served around the same time so hope that this can be improved...
