Boat Noodle at The Gardens Mall in Kuala Lumpur offers patrons a taste of Thai street food, particularly the renowned boat noodles, in a setting that reflects the vibrant ambiance of Bangkok's back alleys. Established in March 2014, Boat Noodle has expanded its presence in Malaysia, with the Gardens Mall outlet being one of its prominent locations.
One of the unique aspects of Boat Noodle is its serving style: noodles are presented in small portions, allowing diners to sample various flavors without committing to a large bowl. This approach has been appreciated by many, as it provides an opportunity to explore different soup bases and taste profiles. A reviewer mentioned, "Still loving the concept that the noodles come in small portions, so I get to try different soup bases."
The menu boasts four distinct soup flavors, each crafted to cater to diverse palates. Diners with a preference for robust and intense flavors might find these offerings particularly appealing. In addition to noodles, Boat Noodle offers dishes like the 'ayam legend' (grilled chicken chop), which has been described as "grilled perfectly... crispy and flavorful while juicy and tender."
The restaurant's ambiance is designed to transport guests to the streets of Thailand. One patron noted, "The place is cool as you are in the boat. It is affordable; you can order so many small dishes."
However, experiences at Boat Noodle have been mixed. Some customers have raised concerns about service efficiency and cleanliness. A recent visitor expressed dissatisfaction, stating, "The worst. Poor standard of cleanliness. Improper food handling by service staff." Another patron highlighted issues with staff responsiveness and the dining environment, mentioning, "I experienced very bad service. Two of the staff members behaved unfriendly and ignored my request when I wanted to place an order."
Despite these concerns, Boat Noodle continues to attract those eager to experience Thai street food in a casual setting. The restaurant operates daily from 10:00 AM to 10:00 PM, providing ample opportunity for both lunch and dinner visits.
In summary, Boat Noodle at The Gardens Mall offers a distinctive dining experience with its small-portion noodle servings and a variety of Thai dishes. While many appreciate the authentic flavors and unique concept, potential diners should be aware of the mixed reviews regarding service and cleanliness. As with any dining establishment, experiences can vary, and it's advisable to visit and form one's...

If can I will never give any star to this outlet. Had food poisoning after eating here.
The staff need to learn how to improve themselves and the service (especially the ladies).
First incident: One lady staff served the drink. Despite calling her immediately after serving the drink, she showed the “wait” sign and walked to other table beside me and did not come back to my table.
Second incident: I ordered Sangkaya and the Tom Yum Chef Mai. I finished my sangkaya and I still didn’t get the tom yum chef mai despite reminding two staff. Mind you, the chef mai tom yum is just a very small portion of noodles which can be done instantly. Then, the food came cold after reminding for the third time. I told one of the staff and the staff just walked away and had discussion with the other staff without any apologies. With disbelief I just ate my food. Halfway, the lady came back and said she will make a new one. The new bowl came and this time the soup was hot. So my question, why serve cold food to customers? It’s just a small portion of food which can be prepared on the spot in no time. I feel this is the worst boat noodle outlet. Will never ever come back to this lousy service outlet. Very...
Read moreI wish to extend my frustration on one of your outlets. I went to outlet Gardens Mall (KL) on Sunday, around 5:20pm. Your staff was rude. We walked in to the outlet and staff at the front allowed us to choose our table. There were a lot of tables at the back of the store and we sat at a table in the back. There were only 2 of us. However, note that all the tables at the time cater to 4pax. So it should not be a problem for us to sit at either one of these tables. Suddenly one of your staff wearing black tudung and pink shirt, came and forced us to change our table to the ones in front of the store. It does not make sense why is there a need to, since we already sat and there is no table for 2pax anyway. The experience with your staff was so frustrating that we just walked out of the store. I hope that your staff is given more trainings on dealing with customers. Please, your business is good, your food is good, but some of your employees is really ruining the dining experience at your store. This is not the first time we faced this, because we had this issue where your staff lacking in customer service skills in other outlet as well (1Utama). Hope that this situation is improved in the...
