A Must-Try Nasi Lemak Spot in Mid Valley – Nale Delivers Excellence! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐❤️
If you’re a nasi lemak lover, then Nale at Mid Valley should be at the top of your list! I recently dined here, and I must say, it was one of the most satisfying nasi lemak meals I’ve had in a long time.
Food – Authentic Yet Unique
I ordered the Nasi Lemak Ayam Bakar, and every component was executed to perfection. The grilled chicken was tender, juicy, and beautifully charred, with a rich, smoky aroma that added an extra depth of flavor. It was well-marinated, and the seasoning was on point—not too overpowering, but just enough to let the natural flavors shine.
The nasi lemak rice was incredibly fragrant, infused with just the right amount of coconut milk to give it a rich but not overwhelming taste. It was light, fluffy, and perfectly cooked, making every bite enjoyable. The sambal was another highlight—spicy, slightly sweet, and packed with umami, striking a great balance that paired perfectly with the rice and other condiments.
What I loved most was the attention to detail—the crunchy ikan bilis and peanuts added a great contrast in texture, while the hard-boiled egg was cooked just right, with a creamy yolk that wasn’t overdone. There was also a special creamy sauce on the side, which was unexpected but surprisingly delicious. It gave the dish a modern twist without straying too far from the traditional flavors.
Ambiance – Stylish & Comfortable
The restaurant itself has a modern, cozy, and inviting atmosphere. It’s well-lit and spacious, making it a great spot for both casual dining and group gatherings. I also appreciated the clean and well-organized seating arrangement, which made for a comfortable dining experience.
Service – Friendly & Efficient
Despite being a busy restaurant, the service was fast and efficient. The staff were polite, attentive, and always ready to help with recommendations. Food was served promptly, and everything was fresh and hot—a clear sign of a well-managed kitchen.
Value for Money – Worth Every Sen!
For the quality of food and portion sizes, the pricing at Nale is very reasonable. You’re not just paying for a meal; you’re getting an elevated nasi lemak experience that’s well worth it.
Final Verdict – A Solid 10/10!
Nale has truly perfected the art of nasi lemak, delivering an experience that’s both authentic and innovative. Whether you’re a local craving a classic favorite or a tourist looking to try Malaysia’s national dish, Nale is a fantastic choice.

Read moreI was here a long time ago but somehow it didn't leave me with a lasting impression. Thinking to give their nasi lemak another try, I dropped by today. Do note that the reception was quite poor indoors and ordering via their online system can be quite a hassle. I suggest to place your orders via the ordering chit instead. Their nasi lemak series is their signature and I got the nasi lemak ayam bakar Nale. In addition, I also ordered the beef cooked in gulai. Food didn't take long to be served. I liked the food presentation and it looked appealing. The nasi lemak came with good portions of sides and condiments. The fragrance of the nasi lemak was noticeable but not the most strong I had. The texture of the rice was nicely prepared as it was fluffy and grainy. The kacang and ikan bilis were fresh and crunchy. The sambal had a good blend of sweetness from the onions and that little tangy taste helped to bring the appetising bit. It was not the most aromatic and intense sambal but I thought it got the job done nonetheless. The ayam bakar was juicy and I liked the sweet caramel-like marination that is synonymous with this local chicken dish. What made it a little different was the Nale sauce that it came with. The sauce was a rich and creamy blast of savory flavors with lush coconut milk in spices and aromatic deep fried shallots. It didn't disappoint but somehow I can imagine that this sauce can be a little too much or overpowering to some. Now about the beef in gulai. The gulai was almost equally thick and rich in its texture. Flavors were present and the combination of ingredients worked. What truly made it great for me was how tender the beef chunks were. Having said all the above, I can see why the rating of the food here was rather impressive. The food tasted good and presentation was commendable. If you're looking for a nasi lemak that offers something different, then you can give this...
Read moreWe had brunch at Mid Valley outlet, my friends being their first visit enjoyed the food very much. Service was nothing to shout about, it was okay. Food was also good except for the kambing bakar that was COLD! I informed the waiter who promptly took it back and he returned shortly, asking if we would want to cancel that order and it would be taken off the bill OR he could reheat it. We opted to cancel as honestly reheated kambing bakar would be overcooked and chewy! Very much later the same waiter came again with the kambing bakar and said we could have it as they had reheated it and not to waste the food we took it. When I went to pay the bill, that dish was not taken off. I queried the lady, (probably supervisor?) and she said since we accepted the food and ate it, we had to pay for it! Of course I told her what the waiter said to us earlier that it would be taken off the bill. We accepted with the thought of not wasting food since it would be thrown out anyway and the waiter did tell us we could have it! After going back and forth on the phone with her boss, she said the boss still insisted we had to pay. I told her it wasn’t our fault the food came out cold, we informed the staff who said it would be cancelled and he gave it back to us, reheated, as it would otherwise be thrown. It was not a question of us not being able to pay for that dish that was RM35+? Why should I pay for it when the waiter told us it would be cancelled? Am I to pay for your staff’s error? Surely your eatery can absorb the ‘loss’ of 50% or even less than that of the particular food cost? Seriously if your eatery cannot afford to have small losses like this you should not operate an eatery! Your thinking of making profit at the expense of customers not returning? Have you got it right? And the lady was sulking when I paid her...
