I’ve been to this restaurant before and was impressed by both the food and the service, which is why I come again. Unfortunately, this time the service experience was disappointing.
When we were ordering, the server seemed to make a mistake. After the dishes were served, we noticed one dish that we didn’t order. I immediately pointed it out and showed the menu to explain that I ordered Cheese Fries, not Cheese Nachos. However, the server insisted that I had ordered the Nachos and even showed his handwritten order notes — which were just abbreviations and impossible to read — to “prove” that I ordered both dishes. I didn’t want to argue or make things difficult by asking for a refund, but what unsaticefed me most was that she never think about her error,or offered a single apology.
My family was with me, and they clearly remembered that I didn’t order the Nachos. When the server came back to serve the next dish, I explained again — saying I will take this dish, but I truly hadn’t ordered it, and my family could confirm that. She only responded with a dismissive “uh-huh” and clearly didn’t want to engage further.
Later, I kept waiting for my Cheese Fries, but they never arrived. I checked both the kitchen order slip and the final bill, and found that the Fries were not listed. There were only five dishes in total — exactly same No. I originally ordered — not six as the server had claimed. This clearly showed that she had made an ordering mistake.
In addition, at the beginning of the meal, I asked for plain water since my child was thirsty and I wanted them to have water first. The server smiled and said “sure,” but never brought it. Even after we ordered our drinks and reminded her again, the water was still not served. What’s strange is that water is usually served to every table here, whether guests order drinks or not. I’m not sure if she ignored the request on purpose, misunderstood it, or simply didn’t understand English.
Overall, the food was still good, but the service this time was far below expectations and left us feeling uncomfortable. I truly hope the restaurant can improve staff communication and service training — especially in handling mistakes with more sincerity and respect.

Read moreHeard of the joint for quite some time, including its hits-&-miss reviews. Fast forward to 2 days ago, had a lunch appointment at SBTT and made sure my expectations were buttressed by openness.
Checked reservation and we were quickly shown our table. Menus dropped and I noted that the Service were a bit inconsistent i.e. some tables were quickly served with drinking water while some later, after the drinks were up. Perhaps the lunch crowd is coming up fast and missed a few tables? Idkr. Service were in attendance, later, when it came to clearing soiled cutleries or flatware when one is done with their meal. Offering a replenished bottle of drinking water would have been a nice touch~
Alright, food:
CAESAR MEETS POSEIDON | Generous portions, even for four adults. Creamy, crunchy and loaded with shaved parmesan. The onsen egg does pull everything together for that one bite you want more of~
CLYDE BARROW | Eggs Benedict but the Honey & Citrus Hollandaise really piqued my interest when I ordered it. I soon found out - lending the lightly season wagyu & mushrooms a whole different taste profile.
DAVY JONES | A Po'Boy good enough for two, given that it comes with lightly battered barramundi tempura & prawns. Sourish, creamy, sweet, spicy, crunchy, filling in every bite..nuff said.
PHILLY MOB | Never had a Philly cheesesteak? Try one! The sloppy, wet slob.. wait, the cheese, the juice from the steak, the caramelised onions.. typing this while remeniscing makes me hungry.
SALMON & EBI | The salmon temperature were slightly over but still acceptable. Pan fried & deep fried really makes a dry dish. Otherwise, not much to highlight on.
Drinks: HAWAIIAN HULA HULA | This tea is really refreshing. It surely quenches one's thirst after doing some face stuffing; hardwork~
FLAT WHITE | Coffee lovers each to their own.
Will we be back? Sure. ..at least, until the food, the drinks & the service tells...
Read moreI recently visited Snitch By The Thieves in midvalley and I must say I was thoroughly impressed with the food. The portions were generous and the quality of the food was fantastic. The prices were also reasonable for the amount and quality of the food. The restaurant has a cozy ambiance with dim lighting, which creates a relaxed atmosphere to enjoy your meal.
One of the dishes that really stood out to me was the curry noodle soup with sambal. The soup was rich and flavorful, with just the right amount of spiciness. The sambal added an extra layer of flavor that really elevated the dish. Besides that, I also ordered the Beetroot, carrot and apple mixed juice, which was a perfect complement to the meal. The juice was freshly made and had a refreshing taste.
The staff were friendly and provided excellent customer service. They were attentive to our needs and made sure we were comfortable throughout our dining experience. However, as it is located in Mid Valley, I would recommend making a reservation in advance to avoid waiting for a table. The restaurant can get quite busy during peak hours, especially on weekends.
For vegetarians, the options are limited to simple dishes like noodles without any meat or egg. However, the quality and taste of the food more than make up for the limited vegetarian options.
In conclusion, I highly recommend Snitch By The Thieves for anyone looking for good food and a great dining experience. The combination of excellent food, cozy ambiance, friendly staff, and reasonable prices make it a top choice for diners...
