🔥 HOT TAKE: BUSAN ZIP IS THE KPOP-APPROVED KOREAN FOOD SANCTUARY YOU NEED TO CONQUER 🔥

Forget what you know about Korean food in KL. Busan Zip in Desa Sri Hartamas isn't just a restaurant; it's a pilgrimage for the soul, a test of will, and a direct ticket to flavour town, population: YOU.

First, let's get the disclaimers out of the way. This isn't your casual, walk-in-and-get-a-table kind of joint. This is a HIDDEN GEM in the truest sense, and the universe demands you prove your worth.

· PARKING? A legendary boss battle. Consider it the appetizer to your meal. Your patience will be rewarded. · QUEUE? A given. The waiting list is as iconic as the menu. Seeing your name on that list feels like getting a golden ticket to Wonka's factory. The buzz of hungry hopefuls outside is all part of the electrifying, exclusive vibe.

But once you cross that threshold... OH. MY. SEOUL.

The ambience is pure, unfiltered K-Drama energy. It's loud, it's vibrant, and it's AUTHENTICALLY KOREAN down to the last poster on the wall. You're not just eating; you're immersed. This is the place you bring your squad when you're CRAVING FOR THAT "DEMON HUNTER" KPOP FOOD – the kind of hearty, powerful meals that fuel your favourite idols through a gruelling practice or an epic drama scene.

And about that squad... gather your best 4-5 people. The table arrangements are LIMITED and intimate, forcing a communal, share-everything feast that’s the heart of Korean dining culture. It's not a bug; it's a feature.

Now, for the main event: THE FOOD. Every dish is a headline act. We're talking about broths so deep and complex they'll haunt your dreams, grilled meats that sizzle with perfection, and flavours that slap you awake and then hug you tight. This is the real deal, no compromises.

THE VERDICT:

Is it hard to get in? YES. Is it worth the legendary struggle? ABSOLUTELY, 100%. Busan Zip isn't just a meal; it's an experience. It’s a challenge, a triumph, and a flavour explosion that will have you planning your next visit before you've even left.

Gather your crew, arm yourselves with patience, and prepare to have your mind (and taste buds) utterly blown. THIS...

The Stir-Fried Spicy Webfoot Octopus with Beef Belly (Woosamgyeup Jjukkumk) is a symphony of textures and flavors.

The octopus, tender yet chewy, offers a delightful resistance to the bite. Its briny sweetness mingles beautifully with the savory richness of the beef belly, rendered succulent and slightly crisp. The addition of scallops introduces a delicate sweetness and a luxurious touch.

The fiery embrace of the gochujang-based sauce awakens the senses, a vibrant heat that lingers pleasantly on the palate. It adds the depth and complexity, while a subtle sweetness balances the spice. The aroma of the dish is intoxicating, a fragrant blend of seafood, meat, and fiery spices.

The sizzling iron plate enhances the dining experience, keeping the dish warm and the flavors intense. Each bite is a burst of flavor and texture, a truly memorable culinary adventure!

Beyond the fiery stir-fries and seafood feasts, Bu San Zip quietly offers a delightful gem: their savory Beef Pancake, showcasing a harmonious blend of textures and flavours. Each bite is a symphony of textures: the satisfying and tender embrace of the beef, and the subtle chewiness of the pancake itself. The flavours are equally captivating. The savory beef, marinated to perfection, imparts a rich depth to the dish. A subtle sweetness permeates the pancake, complemented by a hint of sesame oil. The overall effect is a comforting and satisfying dish that will leave me wanting more.

Bu San Zip’s vibrant atmosphere adds to the dining experience. The walls are adorned with Korean street food photography, transporting diners to the bustling markets of Busan. The friendly and attentive staff ensure a smooth and enjoyable...

Revisit after more than a year — taste not as impressive as before. It’s been over a year since my last visit back in 2023, and unfortunately, the taste this time didn’t live up to my previous experience. The flavours seemed more diluted — the grilled octopus was slightly watery, and even the “normal spicy” level has been toned down compared to before, when it used to carry a stronger kick. Perhaps this adjustment is why the overall flavour feels less satisfying now. A little disappointed, as I was expecting the same bold taste I enjoyed previously.

Visited on November 23 during the weekend dinner hour. They do not accept reservations and only accommodate walk-ins. They opened at 5 pm for the dinner session, and when I arrived around 6 pm, people were already queuing. I was informed that I might need to wait for 40 minutes, with approximately 11-12 groups ahead of me. So, I put my name down and went to Binq Dessert to have some bingsu.

After waiting for an hour, I was finally seated. I ordered the BBQ octopus, which came with prawns and small intestines. For BBQ, The minimum order is for 2 portions, and I also ordered white radish kimchi fried rice 1 pax portion as well. The octopus, with a 2-person portion, was very generous. The staff helped cook the octopus, and it came with some side dishes and lettuce for wrapping. They served a cool seaweed clear soup, which was quite special and refreshing. The BBQ octopus was delicious, and the sauce had a little spicy kick. They also offered beef big intestines and small intestines, personally I don’t prefer this small intestines.

Overall, it was a delicious meal and well...
