We had a booking so we didn't have to wait but the place was a little hot plus we were eating spicy food. Ordered: 手撕包菜 hand teared cabbage - the cabbage was fried with pork belly/bacon and it was so so good, super flavourful and full of the charred flavour (wok hey). 麻婆豆腐 Mapo tofu - we ordered without mince meat and it was also really good with just the right amount of spice. 茄子 eggplant - I don't remember the name for this dish but I loved it, we also ordered it without mince meat but it still tasted great. 土豆丝 shredded potatoes - this was also great the potato was perfectly cooked and seasoned with a good crunch. 铁板豆腐 hotplate tofu - not sure if this was what it was called but this was also good, well seasoned and nicely spiced. 酸菜鱼 pickled sour veggie fish - this was just ok could be more sour. 辣子鸡 spicy fried chicken - this was really tasty, each piece of chicken was nicely fried and it had that numbing sensation which I love. 羊肉串 lamb skewers - this wasn't very good the lamb was well cooked but it lacked flavour have to pile on with the onion to get a hint of flavour. 小龙虾 Crayfish - They gave gloves to peel it but the head there it's really sharp so be careful, it was really tedious to peel and just for that small amount of meat. 炸地瓜 fried sweet potato - this was INCREDIBLE the sweet potato is fried in a batter and then coated with sugar. The sugar hardens and it becomes really crunchy and it's just so good definitely a must order. The food arrived really fast like within 10 minutes of ordering they started dishing our order. Overall a 9/10 will definitely be...
Read moreFood was decent however their poor customer service attitude ruined the experience, will never go back to this restaurant ever! The waitress who served our table had poor attitude she replies to our request with crude reply and bitter face expression. We decided to give input to their supervisor (lady) on the waitress's poor attitude shockingly she herself was equally ignorant and irresponsive to our feedback. The restaurant charged us 20cents for the plastic bag for takeaway food where the poor attitude waitress packed a wet dish into a non-sealed case that caused gravy to spill onto the plastic bag which we realised just went we were getting into the car. Went back in to highlight this to demand they repack it properly and to my dismay they just repack the food into another tied up food grade plastic but put back the content into the earlier stained 20cents plastic bag!! We were left speechless and totally gave up on this restaurant. In the end we left the stained bag of takeaway food on their table and left without taking it. It was just not worth the risk of dirtying our car interior in case the bag leaks....
Read moreCame here by chance during work to assist my boss in his workshop. We ordered 3 items: hand torn sauteed cabbage (direct translation), something kou 肉, and salted egg tofu. The food was unexpectedly delicious and satisfying. I was Extremely delighted that they did not put garlic in the food as requested. The highlight of the 3 dishes was the Cabbage, it has a very strong wok hei and yet the cabbage was able to retain it's natural sweetness. It was a little spicy, but its natural sweetness was able to balance out the spiciness. Next is the salted egg tofu, It serves as a great balance with the Cabbage dish. It has a soft and smooth texture, creamy and yet not overpowering. The salted egg taste is strong, however the tofu was able to mellow it down. Thus the perfect balance. Lastly as for the something kou肉, although it looks kind of dark coloured It was not too salty. It consists of 3 types of pork meat (sliced belly, cubed meat, and sliced bacon) stewed on iceberg lettuce.
All in all, I am very satisfied as Hunan food has opened my eyes and taste buds to future food adventures. Will definitely come...
