As someone that has tried several wagyu restaurants, I would say that the set they offer is far from the wagyu that I tasted. We tried the ramadhan set because it's the only set that shows how many grams they serve. Out of the 6/7 parts only 1 or 2 parts that tasted close to the wagyu but the rest is just so so. The marbling is just not that good to us. Maybe we should have try the other set, only if we know how many grams. For first timer yes it would taste good, but for us it's just average.

The smoke absorber is not functioning very well. The absorber is located surrounding the grill. But most of time the smoke will go out and pass through us which make the eyes very pedih. I am not understand why we have to pay a lot to get such smoke entering our eyes most of the time and we smells a lot after finish eating. We had to change our toddler seat because the smoke keeps on passing through him.

The ceiling light was faulty on our side of the table. It blink non stop most of the time which kinda disturbing our focus on eating. We ask the waitress to do something about this, she just smile and left. At least close the light or fix it. Not a good atmosphere to eat, plus with sharing table side by side only seperated by zinc fence. It makes you questions about the amount you pay.

For anyone who had tried wagyu and would like to try this I suggest to try other set or...

I used to rate Gyutaro publika as 5. But recently, after their renovation with a few new staff and new restaurant manager, the service slightly dropped and they did some modification to the menu: specifically the oxtail soup. It was really good before, but now, with the tomato or whatever they added in to the new oxtail soup, it tasted really bad. The old ones tasted way much better.

The condiments is quite limited and always empty. No labelling on each of the condiments anymore. Will need to keep waiting for them to refill. If we didnt prompt, it will be kept empty somehow. Which is not convenient.

Service wise: the old crew/staff will greet when you arrived and when you are going back, now... their greetings isn't consistent anymore.

The renovation does give a huge impact on the space, now they have bigger space. The new grill installed is quite nice with a built in exhaust fan. For that, i gave 3/5 star. Otherwise it will be 2/5.

All and all, the taste of the food and experience before they renovated is way much better. So sad 😞 since we (family) has been dining in at gyutaro regularly on...

I had an amazing dining experience. From the moment I walked in, the cozy atmosphere and the aroma of sizzling meat set the perfect mood. The staff were incredibly friendly and took the time to explain the different cuts of meat and grilling techniques, making the experience feel personal and enjoyable.

The quality of the meat was outstandingly rich, tender, and full of flavor. Grilling it over charcoal added a smoky depth that enhanced every bite. The dipping sauces complemented the meat well, but honestly, the natural flavors were already incredible on their own.

Service was attentive without being intrusive, and the staff made sure we had everything we needed. The restaurant felt comfortable, making it a great place to enjoy a relaxing meal with friends or family. The prices were reasonable for the quality, and I left feeling completely satisfied.

The combination of high-quality ingredients, great service, and a welcoming atmosphere makes it a place I’ll be...

We had the Gyutaro set which came with 510g of different beef cuts, beef tongue, vegetables and assorted kimchi. All the cuts were soft and tender. They literally melted in our mouths We also added on their kimchi pancake which is a family favourite. It was good as always just less crispier then the last time we came. Our only complaint was that the cabbage kimchi was not fresh. It tasted like it was going bad which if you’ve eaten enough kimchi (we’re big fans) means that it’s probably been contaminated. The other kimchis were not the best as well which was really disappointing because we’ve had the assorted kimchi before just early this year and everything was really really fresh. Would we revisit? Definitely! I feel like Gyutaro has really good cuts compared to other yakiniku establishments but I hope they can improve on serving fresh side dishes. It ties the whole experience together.

Came here on a random evening. No booking made but we managed to get a seat. This place is halal so pork free, but gotta give it a go anyway. First thing I really liked about the place was their wagyu garlic sauce. Delicious as!! I took the wagyu garlic + fried garlic + sesame oil. Bomb combo 👍🏼 went for the basic ribeye and the Angus ribeye. Cuts for the Angus ribeye were slightly thicker, but there was more of the basic ribeye cuts. The basic ribeye cut was only RM11? and it was so good 🤤 We ordered 5 meat dishes, 2 small curry rice, 2 green tea and 1 vege. Set us back by about 110? and we were stuffed so we definitely overate. I think for RM 40 a person you can get good value for your meal already.
