After frequenting well-known spots like Lim Sisters and Double Seven in Sri Sinar, we decided to explore Kopitiam V Sun in Bandar Sri Manjalara. Over the past few weeks, we have visited this establishment three times, sampling a variety of dishes to get a comprehensive feel for its offerings.
One of the standout aspects of Kopitiam V Sun is its airy and well-ventilated space, providing a comfortable dining experience. Unlike other kopitiams that can feel stuffy, this environment enhances the overall ambiance, making it an inviting choice, especially for breakfast.
Food & Pricing
Wonton Noodles with Char Siu Pork
Among the dishes we tried, the Wonton Noodles with Char Siu Pork stood out as the best. The noodles were well-textured, and the char siu was flavorful, making this a highly recommended option.
Hainanese Chicken Rice
The Hainanese Chicken Rice was decent but did not particularly stand out. It was satisfactory in terms of taste and portion, aligning with what one might expect from a traditional chicken rice dish.
Yellow Turmeric Rice with Curry Chicken
The biggest downside in terms of value was the Yellow Turmeric Rice with Curry Chicken. While the flavors were acceptable, the portion size was underwhelming. At RM11 for a serving that includes a single drumstick, a few pieces of potato, and an egg, the pricing felt steep for what was offered.
Other Offerings
Additionally, we sampled items from the Kueh stall and tried the Rice Dumplings, both of which were enjoyable and in line with expectations.
Verdict
Overall, Kopitiam V Sun delivers an above-average dining experience with a comfortable setting and generally well-prepared food. While some dishes, such as the Wonton Noodles, excel, others—like the Chicken Rice—are fairly standard, and certain items may feel overpriced. Nevertheless, for a relaxed and pleasant kopitiam experience, particularly for breakfast, this spot is...
