Found this café while searching for local spots. I’m staying near Nu Sentral for a month but wanted a break from the mall atmosphere, so I checked it out for the Tuesday buffet—except I arrived on Wednesday 😅. Still, I’m glad I did! This place is a true hidden gem. Google Maps is spot on—just follow it. The café is tucked behind the main road, behind the shell petrol station about a 15-minute walk from Nu Sentral.
Fastest Wi-Fi I’ve had on this trip (Upload 56 / Download 93). The music is low—just enough for a good vibe without being distracting. The staff is constantly moving, even during slow hours. The antique, rustic colonial style won’t be for everyone in this Instagram age of bright lights and marquee signs. Even my eyes had to adjust, but honestly, the service more than makes up for it. You don’t get hospitality like this at the trendy spots!
The staff greeted me warmly, helped with my order, and suggested pastries with attention and detail. SO many options, and they all look incredible—happy to report they taste just as good! I got the pandan "Danish" (a French escargot pastry) laced with pandan layers, and it was perfect—flaky, bouncy, like something straight out of Paris. By the last bite, I was already planning my next visit. I also enjoyed a strong, creamy cappuccino with oat milk.
Bonus: they offer a free pastry for completing a survey—no 5-star requirement, which I respect. But honestly? They don’t need to ask. I’d give 5 stars anyway.
I visited on a Wednesday at 11 AM, and it was empty. The “cafe” section between the entrance and main dining area is cozy. There are sufficient outlets for charging. And the larger dining area has a greenhouse-style setup with plenty of natural light and fans. No AC that I noticed, but it was comfortable enough—I had my personal fan just in case. As it filled up for lunch around noon, the vibe remained easy as many of the diners spoke low to keep the peaceful atmosphere. I had my water refilled throughout my work day. Ordering is digital or physical menu.
I love it here! I’ll be...
Read moreMy fav lunch spot 📍 Lisette’s Cafe and Bakery Bangsar
This charming spot in Bangsar has become my go to for relaxing lunches and indulgent desserts.. I've tried quite a few things here, and while some were memorable, others were just okay… here’s my honest breakdown :
🍞 French Toast - 5/5 Definitely one of the best I’ve had .. super fluffy with a light cinnamon touch that doesn’t overpower.. I’ve already repeated this twice.. Highly recommend for French Toast lover ..
🌮 Homemade Tacos - 3/5 Nice presentation with a decent mix of flavors..The tortilla is soft and warm and the filling was fresh.. A bit on the lighter side .. good if you’re not super hungry..
🍛 Nasi Kerabu Perchik with Chicken - 3/5 A vibrant and flavorful dish.. The blue rice is aromatic and the chicken is well-marinated with a mild char .. it’s good if you’re craving a malay dish..
🫐 Berry Waffles - 3/5 Crispy outside, soft inside .. topped with fresh berries and whipped cream.. It’s sweet but not overwhelming.. Great for sharing or pairing with coffee..
🍰 Coffee Burnt Cheesecake with Salted Mascarpone - 3/5 Looks stunning and the mascarpone is a nice twist but the coffee flavor was a bit too intense for me. Worth trying if you're a coffee lover!
🍓 Strawberry Sandwiches - 3/5 Visually cute but the bun was a little dry.. Could’ve used a fluffier texture and creamier filling to match the freshness of the strawberries..
🍑 Peach Strudel - 3/5 The flavors are lovely but the pastry wasn’t as flaky as expected.. Could be better with a crunchier base..
🍓 Strawberry Tart - 3/5 Beautiful presentation but the tart base was slightly too firm for my liking.. A decent pick if you’re a fan of fresh fruit desserts..
🍮 Bread Butter Pudding - 3/5 Comforting and soft but nothing standout.. A classic dessert done okay ..not too sweet, which I...
Read moreWe're greeted by friendly waiters very promptly. Queue was not long at all so it wasn't a long wait before getting a table. Every corner of the cafe is Instagrammable, I might say
A cousin said they're known for their vegetarian spread, but when I went there, I was so hungry, I needed more intense form of protein (no offense, fellow vegetarian friends) 🙈 So I had scrambled eggs with truffle oil and smoked salmon on two slices of sourdough toasts. The cooking on eggs was spot on. Not over. Not under. Just there. Call me crazy but scrambled eggs pretty much showcases a cook's basic culinary skill. Toasts were pretty thin but that's a minor flaw. Smoked salmon - I don't think they smoked it themselves because the taste was somewhat generic (I can be wrong though. And please bear in mind nothing is wrong with store-bought salmon) but it was alright with the eggs
I also had earl grey tea (label on the sachet stated XO Tea). It was so fragrant, it left a smile on my face - which was already smiling from a good slice of chocolate hazelnut cake! Layers of oil-based sponge (I think it's oil-based, not butter-based) packed with hazelnut fine nibbles frosted with rich dark chocolate ganache that was silky smooth. It was finished with a layer of... Uh... Some sort of soft caramel layer. Salted caramel maybe which was just enough to enhance flavour of the chocolate ganache. I like it when chefs/cooks know how to cook/bake with restraint
The cafe is suitable for dates and casual hangouts. Not to sit down and read a book peacefully because boy, oh boy, it was so packed! Price was quite expensive considering the food you are served with, but you're probably paying extra for good customer service...
