This place is very inconsistent. Not just the food quality but also the service. There are days when the service is very good but there are times when the service is terrible. One time I went, the cashier was on his phone the entire time I was at the counter and he barely pay attention to us. He then asked us to sit at the front area of the shop but it was very crowded. The other tables were empty. The beverage was slow, I waited for anout 5 minutes for my drink.

I love the food. The chicken is good and flavourful, especially the crispy. I love their kubis goreng because its well-cooked and seasoned. The sambal is a little bit too chunky at times. When I eat ayam gepuk, I would expect the chili to be fine but I bit into a whole chili one time, which was quite unpleasant.

I don’t like that they don’t sell iced water. Instead, I have to spend RM3 for drinking water. DRINKING water, not MINERAL water. I don’t think the price is justified.

Overall, it really depends on the day. There are good days and bad days. They should be...

Food and service is really bad, waited for nearly 1hr 30 minutes in the restaurant it self for dine-in and the reason been given for the the delay is rice haven't cooked and chicken is still frying in the kitchen which is not acceptable.

You are running a shop and you must been well prepared for handling heavy traffics during peak hours but to be honest the shop was empty and not busy with few tables only occupied and I don't know why they given us such reasons.

And this is the worst part, once the meal arrives the rice is over cooked and it literally looked like nasi impit which is really not appetising and we end up not eating our meal properly and leave the restaurant with zero satisfaction.

Pros, the chicken is good, sambal was decent with thier other condiments which we cannot deny.

Overall verdict not recommended and I'm not sure how about on the other days but this is what we have personally...

Expected more from ayam gepuk, maybe from the overwhelming hype from everyone in Malaysia. The chicken is dry, cold and too salty. They are overcharging the dish but they gave cheap ingredients (they used tofu kering instead of normal tofu which is cheaper). The chicken seemed old and so dull. Maybe the hype is for the sambal only. Will I visit again? A definite no, fix the quality of your chicken and tofu then I would consider going again. Too expensive as well. The guy at the counter was also a bit rude and rushing so it is a bit annoying haha
