Oriental Kopi, has always been my favorite spot whenever I'm back for a visit. Despite the long queues that can take over half an hour, I always make it a point to stop by because the quality and taste of the food are well worth the wait. The constant crowd just shows how popular and good this place is.

However, during my most recent visit, I had a small issue. My aunt needed to take her medication, so we asked for a glass of hot water. The staff firmly told us they only provide bottled mineral water and couldn't give us hot water. While this was disappointing, I totally respect the professionalism of the two staff members who were quite firm in sticking to what they were asked to do by the company. This was actually impressive, as it shows they're following the policies in place, which I assume are for good reasons (profit). My guess is that their firmness is not only due to company policy but also because some customers (dodgy) may try to take advantage of the situation and avoid paying for drinks by requesting free hot water instead. I want to emphasize that I am always willing to pay for hot water, so please consider my suggestion to add it to the menu. This could help prevent these kinds of situations in the future.

We were blessed that the situation was saved by their supervisor, Jasmine. She was incredibly understanding and provided us with a glass of hot water, allowing my aunt to take her medication. Jasmine showed great customer service and mentioned she would try to help staff be more aware of situations like these in the future.

Overall, I still love this place for its food, and the service—though basic—was saved by Jasmine's professionalism. The restaurant is blessed to have someone like her on their team. Thank you, Jasmine, for resolving the issue and...

Not going to introduce much on this ever popular kopitiam that took over the kopitiam scene by storm with its egg tart and good food + kopi. From its beginning in Puchong, they have presence in major shopping malls.

Yours truly happened to be in Pavilion Bukit Jalil one Saturday, passing by Oriental Kopi which was doing good business, as usual. But the line wasn't that long so I decided to try - for the very first time - and to see what was the hype all about.

It was full house but everyone seemed busy yet efficient to manage everything from the queue, order and payment. The egg tart station is right outside the outlet - genius move as passerby can takeaway the best selling item.

◾Oriental Curry Laksa Mee - surprise surprise as the broth was quite aromatic with the right consistency. ◾Polo Bun - a piece of ice was placed next to the butter to prevent melting; and the polo bun had the crunchy crust. ◾Egg Tart - don't know how to describe but the egg tart was really good, probably one of the best out there. The custard filling was generous but not too sweet, and the crust was fluffy, airy and crunchy. So good that I bought extras as takeaway for my parents. ◾Half Boiled Egg ◾Kopi and Teh - another thing that I liked was their drinks. I tried their cham si and teh si - got the taste of both coffee beans and tea leaves.. cukup kaw!

I was told by my friend who knew the boss that he personally visit his outlet to make sure of the food quality everyday. Talk...

Main dishes, sides and drinks are amazing. Price is definitely higher than a regular kopitiam haha, but for the quality of the food, it is definitely worth it! If you are interested in trying high quality local cuisine, this is the place to go.

Must Tries: Polo bun, egg tarts and oriental coffee is a must try. The polo bun just sweet enough; the butter makes it even better. Egg tarts are hot, jiggly and creamy; almost melt in your mouth when eaten fresh. Not too sweet too unlike other places. Oriental coffee is also fragrant and balanced. Not too sour nor bitter compared to regular old kopitams.

Other good dishes there: Mantou is a good side to have, comes with condensed milk and curry to dip. Nasi lemak comes with fragrantly spiced friend chicken. The portion is generous too! The curry chee chong fun is a litte spicier than the average curry chee cheong fun in other kopitiams.

Service: Service is fast and the waiters/waitresses are kind. If you need anything, just raise your hand and the server will come to help. There will be a long line, before being seated, but since the food comes fast and tables are plentiful, the wait won't be too long (I had to wait around 15 minutes to enter on a Sunday night, which is relatively fast compared to the other branch in Sunway Pyramid)

Atmosphere: The place is lively and packed, but don't worry as it is still possible to hold a...

Be prepared to queue up to 30 minutes or longer during peak periods. For me, the few times I've been here, I'm either really early or late but I still have to wait for a table. However, I do get a table within 15 minutes. So far, I've tried quite a number of their signature dishes like nasi lemak, mee siam, prawn mee, polo bun, egg tart, cendol and curry mee. I must say all rate from really good to excellent. The nasi lemak is among the best I've eaten and can even give Village Park a run for its money. I'm also quite impressed with the poached? fried? egg that tops some of the dishes. The yoke is perfectly cooked and jiggly. The egg tarts are highly popular and there is a separate and equally long queue for it. The custard is really thick and creamy. I've purchased a few for take away and they still taste just as good the next day after I heated them in a toaster oven. The polo bun has a crunchy shell with soft and fluffy insides. Goes really well with the decadent butter and sweetened condensed milk. You can also opt for the healthier honey instead. The only item that didn't rate as high is the curry mee. It is still good but it just did not impress me as much compared to the other dishes. Service is very good considering the crowd. So far, they have never gotten the order wrong and all items do arrive within a short time of each other. Kudos to the staff.
