Visited Pokok Café at Sunway Velocity Mall and left feeling quite disappointed. Entered very hungry, but the experience was underwhelming from the start. The sign at the entrance says “Please wait to be seated,” yet I was told to find my own seat with just a distant hand signal from a staff member. This particular staff member, a fit and fair-skinned guy, seemed to be in a bad mood—his demeanor and facial expressions didn’t leave a good impression. Not sure if he’s local or foreign, but his attitude was unprofessional.
I ended up calling a different staff member (a foreigner in a white shirt) to take my order, as the first one didn’t seem approachable. I also noticed the first staff member giving side-eyes to customers while cleaning tables. A word to the management: please monitor his behavior, as his attitude could ruin the dining experience for your patrons.
As for the food, I ordered the pesto pasta with an additional RM6 for chicken breast, and a pineapple juice. The pasta was bland and lacked flavor, and the chicken breast was paper-thin and tasteless. Definitely not worth the extra charge. Even the juice seemed like it was just chilled and not freshly made. For comparison, the pesto pasta at Pokok Lalaport was far better.
To top it off, a staff member cleared my plate without even asking if I was done—basic courtesy would be to check first. Overall, the food and service here need serious...
Read moreBirthday treat from my sisters and daughter. Very open feel kind of restaurant. Served local cuisine, kind of confusing menu, but managed to find what we want. Looks like their best should be Nasi Lemak . Is either Nasi lemak with various options My sisters ordered Nasi Lemak with salmon , I ordered a nasi lemak bomb where an nasi lemak platter that has everything a plate of nasi lemak should have. My comment is that the plate is too small to cramp everything on the plate , making it very hard to manage the food when you eat. To pay from RM 26 to 36 for this Nasi lemak , in my honest opinion, Mdm Kwan is ways better.
I ordered Peach Tea, which cost RM20.00 per glass. To my disappointment, they served the ice peach tea in a short glass. I must say, that is grossly overcharged under served. You can charge any amount that you think is reasonable, but please also serve reasonably One of the staff members came to ask if everything was good. I commented about the drinks, and he said the volume is actually more than tall glass. Are you sure ? that I seriously don't agree . But there is nothing he can do to make it up. Then , why ask?
To me , this is the 1st and the last restaurant kind of experience. I will not go...
Read moreI went to this restaurant for berbuka puasa and ordered the berbuka set. Unfortunately, my experience was very disappointing.
Firstly, I was served nasi kerabu with half-cooked chicken, with visible blood on the plate. This is completely unacceptable, especially for a restaurant serving meals to fasting customers. I immediately requested a replacement, but I had to wait almost an hour to receive a new one.
Throughout my visit, the staff seemed overwhelmed, running around without proper coordination. To make matters worse, our drinks only arrived after we had finished eating.
For the price we paid, we expected better quality food and service. If the restaurant is short-staffed, the management should hire more staff or consider closing the outlet until they can handle operations properly. It’s unfair to customers to charge high prices for poor service and badly prepared food.
I hope the top management takes this seriously and improves both the food quality and service efficiency. As it stands, this experience was...
