Rakuzen Sunway Velocity Mall — Restaurant in Kuala Lumpur

Not recommended, I advise you to avoid this restaurant. It's better to avoid the frustration. Even budget-friendly Sushi Zanxxx service is way better than this. Here's why. The prices are high, and the service staff's attitude is extremely impolite. When we arrived at the restaurant, he asked if we had a reservation. I wasn't sure whose name was used, so I mentioned a name, and he impatiently replied that there was no such reservation and asked how many people. I said about 10, and without even checking, he said there were no available seats. Later, I called my friend, gave them the right name, and only then did he said inside without showing any direction. The food sold out, and 1 of the waiter explanation was impatient and unclear, leaving the 12 of us confused about what the waiter was saying. We spent over a thousand ringgits and ended up feeling frustrated. This so called Japanese restaurant but the service is far from what you would expect. It is unacceptable. Please refer to other Japanese restaurants and provide good training for your staff about the right working attitude in a Japanese restaurant. Disappointing. It just lowers...

Rakuzen is hands down one of the best Japanese dining experiences in Malaysia! From the moment you step in, you're greeted with a warm, zen-like atmosphere — wooden interiors, calming music, and a clean, elegant setup. The sashimi was incredibly fresh and thick-cut — melt-in-your-mouth salmon, tuna, and more. The beef was tender and bursting with umami, perfectly cooked on a hot plate. Haven't been here for almost two years. Came here twice last week and the service was terrible. Food took ages to be served and here's the story. My 1st visit last week (dinner on weekday) with friends were disappointed. We waited for over 1/2 hour yet diners seated after us gotten their food before us. When we asked, they immediately serve one bento set to us. Then nothing for over 10 mins until we asked again and guess what...they immediately serve another bento set to us. This happen three times. When we raised our disappointment, the server said the chef is new which make no sense. 2nd visit last week (lunch on public holiday) was pretty much the same. They immediately served two bento set upon us asking. Waited another 15 mins or so before we ask for remaining bento set and guess what...the server informed us that the chef had burnt fried dishes and need to be recooked. I am not sure if the server was telling the truth but me and friends were very disappointed with this outlet. Will I come back to this...
