My friends and i walked into Roberto's at 1045-11am today (Sunday) to have brunch and were informed that lunch starts at 12pm and they were still using the brunch menu at that time. We then asked for the lunch menu and said that we’ll be back at 12pm. Before leaving, we asked if we would need to reserve a table for lunch time just in case. The staff mentioned that we can just walk in later during lunch and there's no need to reserve a table as there are "walk in" tables. When we walked in at 11.50am, no one entertained us so we called the restaurant to reserve a table (although we were at the entrance of the restaurant) but phone call kept being passed to different people and nothing was done to get us a table hence we hung up. We were then told that they were fully booked. Why mention "walk in" when you only take reservations? Also, the staff could have just told us that we can reserve "walk in" tables when we asked them the question earlier at 10.45am. However, nothing was explained to us clearly (one of the staff couldn't even speak proper english) and it wasted a lot of our time. The staff did not seem bothered to help us when we were there. They even entertained someone who was next in line when we came back to the restaurant at 11.50am. They told us to try again at 2pm as they might have additional tables for "walk in" customers at that time. We were already waiting for an hour plus hence we weren't willing to wait any longer so we left the place in the end. I am very disappointed with the service provided and the way we were treated today. I've been to Cicchetti di Zenzero (a restaurant managed the same group) and the service provided was top notch. I hope nobody else gets treated the same way...
Read moreRoberto's 1020 is an Italian Contemporary Osteria serving Italian Authentic Food - taking pride in their traditional recipes featuring authentic Tuscan and Emilian cuisines 🇮🇹 The crowning jewel of the restaurant is a wood-fired and gas combination oven – Alfa Forni. It’s top of its range and the only one in Malaysia.
Since pizzas take centre stage at Roberto’s, I decided to go for their Gourmet Pizza 🍕 - Carbonara (Scrambled Eggs, Mozzarella Cheese, Beef Bacon, Shaved Pecorino Romano cheese). It was HORRIBLE!!! Pizza was dry, bitter and had a very strong burnt taste. Crust was tough and the burnt bits left a permanent foul taste in my mouth. Honestly, it was so terrible that I could barely finish one slice 😭 Such a shame to Roberto Guiati, the restaurant’s founder and CEO of PETRA Cucina (the group that also encompasses Luce and Zenzero) for serving such poor quality food. It tasted like leftover pizza and the worst thing was that it was so plain!! You could barely taste the toppings nor cheese; it’s the worst pizza bianca I’ve tried…they should be ashamed to even feature it in the Gourmet menu section. I think Pizza Hut & Domino’s are more generous with their toppings and sauce 🤬 It’s a rip off and a disgrace to Italian food… Sweet Mashed Potato was creamy and light, thankfully it was sweet enough to remove the bitterness from my mouth after eating the...
Read moreIf you're looking for a nice quiet place for an intimate dinner, look elsewhere. It is a place to bring your whole family. I went there with my husband on a Saturday night it was very noisy, very bright and does not offer much privacy as tables are placed very closely together. I cant review much on the other food as we only had wine, cheese platter and a Pizza. We had the 'saddest' looking cheese platter ever, very small in quantity, very thinly sliced cheeses sparsely scattered on a rather large wood board. They should probably consider using a smaller board so that the platter doesn't look so pathetic. The dried fruits described in the menu are just raisins. The wine was nice but we had to wait for 45mins for our Pizza which turned out to be too salty. As we were enjoying our wine, a huuuuge fly dived right into my husband's glass. A big put off if you ask me to see a fly ‘swimming’’ in the wine. We informed the waiter who then took the glass away and showed it to the bartender who also did not look at all surprised. The waiter then just gave us another glass like nothing happened (no apologies, nothing!).. Overall, not a pleasant dining experience, way too overpriced for this kind of unprofessional service. My first and last,...
