For the hype, I was very disappointed. Coffee was way under extracted, tastes sour.
I see that they're using good quality machines and grinders, really expensive EG-1 grinder. They roast their own beans, and import the beans themselves. But their baristas need a proper training on how to pull a properly extracted espresso shot.
I'll definitely give it another go if things improve. This cafe has a lot of potential. The owner should care more about their business.
---- Additional Updates ---
Look at how the owner replied? They're not ready for a constructive feedback.
When I say it is under-extracted, it is definitely under-extracted. I never mentioned anything about your roasting style. Your roast isn't the problem, it's the extraction. When you roast light, you need to increase your extraction ratio. There are a few ways you could do so, by grinding finer, tamping harder, higher brew temperature, higher brew ratio. Fruity and acidic notes can be good, but please, drink your own coffee, do a cupping test, or best yet, hire a professional cupping judge, and listen to his feedback, don't listen to mine. What you said is true, acidity and fruitiness can be good, but you should always find a balance between acidity and body, where it isn't too acidic till it leaves an annoying aftertaste, and that's what I'm experiencing from your cafe.
I've read from your reviews that you do not really care much about your customers, how you scold and treat your customers, it's really sad to me. Like I said above, your shop has lots of potential, you have good crowd, but unfortunately, I have to say that your customers aren't educated properly on the subject of coffee.
I don't have to prove to you who I am, but all I can tell you is that I'm a trained roaster and barista, and I have sat in as a competition judge before. My opinion may not matter to you, so I suggest you get someone else...
Read moreJoining my list to cross off is The Hub - well, not cross off but to be listed as one of the to-go places for coffee if I'm in this area. I frequented OUG a lot when I was still living in Puchong more than 15 years ago. But ever since I moved elsewhere, I found myself coming less and less here. This area is still busy and congested as ever.. parking could be a nightmare depending on the time you come here.
My description of this coffee will be "it's like entering another world upon pushing the front door open". It was so quiet, serene and relaxing inside the cafe.. it feels like entering another realm after getting burnt by the scorching sun out there. You could clearly see a roasting machine right in front of the cafe which means that they roast their own beans - a good sign.
◾Nothing fancy about this cafe - everything was kept simple with just the essentials. But it looked clean and organised. ◾well equipped with all the tools needed to make a good cup of coffee ◾Since I was in serious need of caffeine fix, I started with a hand poured Single origin coffee from Colombia. It was a joy pouring the aromatic coffee from the little jug into the given cup. ◾Once I'm done with the first one, I proceed to order a cup of latte.. love it as I could taste the quality of coffee beans used. Note: I'm not an expert in coffee but after drinking so much coffee, one could tell if it's good or not. ◾Apart from the regular coffee, you could go to their premium offering costing from RM30 to RM150 per cup ◾Non coffee drinker will be able to find lemon tea, chocolate and tea bags in their menu. All day brunch menu - croissant, fries, pasta and toasts are available to feed your hungry tummy too.
This cafe is underrated to those who love to feature in social media but to those who knows their coffee will surely find this...

I went to this HUB cafe with my husband at around 2 pm & the MALE BARISTA who keep on stare at us with a very RUDE way ( not only 1 time but few times ) while he was brewing his coffee like asking us to leave asap . Hello … what is ur problem? U can talk to us if any problem but why are u staring at us just because we were sitting too long here ? This is a CAFE and u expect ur customer drink and leave asap ? U can choose to tell us at first before u choose to use ur “ little eye “ and stare at us . No manners at all ! This is OUG BRANCH . The time we stay in The Hub OUG is between 2 pm to 4 30 pm on 31/12 . there were two barista which is a female and male . The male barista is definitely rude when he keep on stare at us while brewing his coffee like we cannot sit too long or hinting us to leave asap which dissapoint me with his service attitude. At the end my husband finish his last sip of coffee and he came over and told us “ We still have customer waiting to come in and sit “ . When I step into this cafe , i never see any signage talking about limit customer time to hang around and definitely no more next round. Kindly take action towards this...
