Ruema Cafe & Event Space — Restaurant in Kuala Lumpur

I recently visited Ruema with a group of 14 ladies, including a 3-month-old infant, and I must say, the experience was quite memorable. We had made a reservation a week in advance, and upon arrival, we were pleased to find that our reserved table was located in a spacious upper area with no other customers around, giving us ample room to enjoy our gathering.

Ambiance and Interior: Ruema’s ambiance is undeniably Instagram-worthy. The decor is stylish and modern, with a chic, inviting atmosphere. The restaurant also caters well to families, featuring a playroom for kids which is a thoughtful touch. The restrooms are clean, with separate facilities for men and women, and come equipped with bidets and tissues.

Food: The culinary offerings are where Ruema truly shines. The Beef Truffle Pasta and Nasi Goreng Kampung Crispy were standout dishes—both were delicious and well-executed. I highly recommend these dishes to anyone visiting.

Beverages: However, there is room for improvement in the beverages department. The hot chocolate and iced matcha were underwhelming, scoring a 5/10 in our opinion. Enhancing the quality of these drinks could significantly improve the overall dining experience.

Service: Service at Ruema was a mixed bag. Although the staff was generally polite, we were not greeted warmly upon arrival. We had to approach a staff member to find out that our table was upstairs. A more welcoming reception and clearer guidance upon entry would have greatly improved our first impression.

was there with my friends with toddlers. We ordered iced choc, vanilla latte, spanish latte. The lattes are very nice. The iced choc was tasteless so we asked the staff if the iced choc is supposed to taste like that and he said yes but he offered sugar syrup and all were good then.

Onto the food. Taste wise, I would say meh. My nasi goreng kampung was a bit tastless at first and the belacan taste kicks super strong. Didnt finish it. Aglio oglio was watery, seems like a soup??? But taste wise, okay la. Bulgogi fries was great. Keropok lekor was thiccc and the sos was nice.

However , minus point for the cleanliness and the staff. We were eating and suddenly there’s a cockroach next to my plate????? And next to our table….

Onto the staff - my friend had a baby and a toddler. We saw there’s a playroom. The cafe closed at 10pm and we were there before 9pm. We had our dinner and my friend wanted to being her kid to the playroom so we asked the lady if we could enter the room. She said can (with her unhappy face), later she said “tapi bilik tu dah kemas, nanti akak kemas balik eh”. To my surprised….. that was just plain rude. It wasnt our job to keep the room clean but as a mindful person we are, we will keep the room clean however, she shouldnt be saying that. Why have a playroom then? The guy staff was nice except for that particular lady staff.

This place was awesome ngl!! i’m from Singapore so i when to Kuala Lumpur for business trip and it’s was my last day so idk where should I go for lunch before going back to Singapore. After that aku pun try laa pergi area Bandar Sri Permaisuri and then i saw this cafe. The cafe was so elegant and aesthetic so i was like “wow, interesting “ so aku pun try laa masuk cafe ruema ni, aku masuk2 je ada seorang staff ni take me to my table and ask me to scan qr code for order, all the food and drink in the menu looks so delicious so idk which one should i order and then i ask the staff to recommend me one of the best food and drink. If i’m not wrong her name is fatin, staff yang ada banyak clip2 d tepi tudung, i hope i was not wrong HAHAHA she was so civilised and skillfull in her job and cute also tbh🤭 so for the staff i will rate 10/10 !!! So we continue with the food, she recommended me the wagyu burger and ruematch, ok so for the wagyu burger its was so delicious… the wagyu beef was so juicy and combined with the bun and the sauce it was perfect🤩for the wagyu burger i will rate 9/10 !!
