This is located at Jalan Ampang but didn't realize it is at the other end of the Jalan Ampang from KLCC. Was there at 5 they weren't open for business till 530 but after some talking they decided to let us in for a seat first while waiting for them to start work at 530. At 530 sharp a lady came to take orders. We asked her for some recommendations and we went ahead with the dishes she recommended. I was here for the main star of the restaurant: the Char Siew. I have to say the dishes were pretty well cooked, I like the veg and the tofu a lot. The char siew was really good, it definitely is one of the best I have tried in KL. Although I am more interested in those which are charred and having a black sticky coating, this char siew was also very well made with good amounts of fat in each slice of it. What's more special is that when chewing on the meat I felt like the outer layer has been torched it has this of the creme brulee feeling where you can taste the sweetness of the char siew very distinctively. We loved it so much we decided to order a 2nd serving of it. So good and definitely a memorable one. Will definitely...
Read moreWe were having a family holidays in Bukit Bintang and chanced upon this restaurant when looking for good local restaurant that served great char siew around the city area when we checked out from the hotel on the way back to Singapore ... We have arrived late at the restaurant (2:30pm) when it is about to closed by 3pm for afternoon rest time but the 老板娘 Alice was very kind and great service to serve us the entire meal that lasted till 4pm. We have a great time in enjoying the famous 玻璃叉烧 though 烧肉 already finished. Alice was very nice to bring out 3 additional char siew (from her reservation stock to serve regulars) for our takeaway when she heard that we are leaving for Singapore and probably will not be back till few months' time. Did not expect they serve other 煮炒 dishes with strong wok hey (锅气)too aside from the nice char siew and soy sauce chicken. Surprised to try the super nice 牛肉炒芥兰 which I have missed very long in Singapore and Johor area after the last few old stalls closed for business. Will certainly be back when I next visit KL again and this would be my future must visit restaurant list for...
