The proprietor (Nita) helped us (5 ladies) order a few of their signature dishes prawn cake starter - QQ and flavorful mango salad - crunchy with well balanced flavors Tom yum goong - served with fresh tiger prawns and the broth was extremely thick and flavorful like it’s been cooking for a long time green curry chicken with Basil - tender meat accompanied with thick curry sauce spicy fried fish - fish was butterflied and deep fried, served with a homemade sauce Crying Tiger using Brazilian beef - perfect doneness and tender mango sticky rice - BEST mango sticky rice ever! The rice was well seasoned and perfectly cooked through with fluffy individual grains, mango was sweet and tender red ruby - each ruby was delicately coated, and the water chestnut was sweet and crunchy on the inside, and not too sweet tasting.
Overall - well balanced flavors and great service. Proprietor Nita is very friendly, and very knowledgeable and passionate about sharing her love of thai cuisine.
Definitely will return to try the other dishes on the menu. They also offer very affordable...
Read moreIf you have been to Jadjan Thai Street Food just across the street from this restaurant, you would need no further introduction to the quality and yumminess of the food here. Its basically run by the same people and the only difference is that this restaurant does not serve pork (no moo ping for me). The hostess merrily told me that I could always satisfy my cravings at Jadjan which I already have. I roped in some friends and we popped by here just so we could try a multitude of dishes. It is very difficult to order many dishes when I am alone or with mom. We tried a variety of tom yum and liked them all. The green curry could be a tad spicier and the pad thai was on point. However, my favourite dish was the starter, prawn cakes and we ordered it another round caused it was so good. Alas, the dessert menu was limited when we visited as many items were listed as unavailable so we had to contend with just 2 types. Definitely worth a...
Read moreThis Thai restaurant serves food that (almost) taste like the food in Thailand. I can't fault the taste of the smoked duck red curry, chicken green curry, seabass in sour soup (the best dish of the night), Thai plain omelette BUT they just lack the oomph - sourness and spiciness - of the food served in Thailand. Perhaps the chef toned down the taste of the food to the Malaysian palate which would be a shame. The red rubies and mango/durian sticky rice were excellent but portions were small, way too small. The mango salad was a fail - a total surprise to me as the rest were executed well.
I would come back again to try more of the food. This place is nearly there but not quite yet. Just a few tweaks here and there will do.
Service was rated only 2⭐ as they had trouble coping with the crowd during the breaking of fast (restaurant wasn't even full). We waited an hour for the...
