On Thursday afternoon, my friend suggested this place for day off lunch. I have never been to the area yet, so pretty excited to try a middle eastern steak house for the first time.
My order: Avocado & coconut milkshake 1/2 spring chicken (bbq) panna cotta thing (not sure of the name)
Avocago & coconut milk shake - 5 stars out of 5 I loved it! It's not too sweet and pretty entertaining with avocado flavor as more dessert side. Very gentle avocado flavor but it is surely there. I really could not taste much coconut flavor in it. But I enjoyed the flavor very much. So far in KL, Avocado as a dessert or drink is something totally new to me and one of big surprises in foods of the area.
1/2 Spring Chicken (bbq) - 4 stars BBQ sauce is good, they even offered extra bbq sauce in a small cup. Chicken is so juicy and tender, nicely cooked. Fries are crunchy outside and fluffy inside. And vegetable are seasoned gentle and still fresh and crispy after quickly stir fried. I think only thing it missed was punch of the flavor. It was yummy and I liked it, I would probably order again. But I wish there was something unique from middle eastern cuisine. I wish I could have a little surprise because we chose to try “middle eastern steak house” for the first time. It was a great bbq chicken though.
Dessert - 4 stars (sorry I don’t remember the name…. M something)
Unfortunately my friend said “it smells like a bathroom”. We in japanese quite often use air freshener of lavender scent. My family used it and I believe my friend’s as well. And this dessert has that smell. So, no offense to the shop, but the word “bathroom” did ruin the dish a little. But I managed to eat everything because I wanted to try middle eastern dessert. It was gentle panna-cotta-like dessert. There were coconut flakes sprinkled on top, and one citrusy fruit on top, which tasted like japanese Biwa (loquat). Nice fresh. If it does not reminded us of our bathroom scent, it could be more enjoyable as it should be. i would ask if they make a different scent using Arabic fruit or something, I would love to try it again!
People working here was very nice and friendly. Especially our waitress Latifah was trying to help us enjoy the meal. I do appreciate their customer service attitude. I would say my total score is between 4 to 4.5 stars. Juicy chicken is trutworthy, avocado drink is my...
Read moreI recently stayed at M-City Suite and decided to check out a nearby restaurant after seeing numerous glowing reviews on Google, especially highlighting their staff rather than the food itself. Curiosity piqued, I thought it was worth a try.
Upon our visit, the overall culinary experience was underwhelming. We ordered a Greek Salad, Steak, and Baba Ghanoush, and while the atmosphere of the restaurant was calm — especially for a Thursday night — the food didn’t quite live up to expectations.
Starting with the Greek salad, it was visually appealing and well-prepared, earning a solid 9/10. The flavors blended nicely, but I had a minor preference for the feta cheese to be served in its traditional square form rather than crumbled. It’s a small detail, but it adds to the overall experience.
Next, we moved on to the steaks: sirloin and ribeye, both cooked to medium rare — a point that was executed perfectly. However, the presentation and quality were disappointing. My sirloin appeared like it had been excessively pounded, and some portions were sliced into, impacting the integrity of the cut. The ribeye was quite tough, leaving us unable to finish it despite the ideal cooking temperature. The mashed potatoes were also a letdown, coming across as a bit dry. The broccoli seemed overcooked and lacked any vibrancy, making the dish visually unappealing. Additionally, I was left confused by an unidentifiable white sauce served alongside the meat; it did not complement the dish. The rectangular serving plate didn’t sit well on the table, which made cutting the meat quite cumbersome, as the plate would shift with a simple movement.
The Baba Ghanoush was another disappointment. I had anticipated a flavorful, authentic dish of baked eggplant drizzled with olive oil. Instead, what I received resembled more of a chopped Mediterranean salad, with the freshness of the vegetables overshadowing the eggplant’s natural flavor. I would rate it a 5/10, as it was far from what I had expected.
On a positive note, we also ordered Mango Lassi, which turned out to be delicious — a refreshing highlight among the meal. The food was served fairly quickly, which was appreciated in the quiet setting of the restaurant. Overall, while I enjoyed some aspects of the experience, the food left much to be desired. Total RM338 totally...
Read moreQuality of meat is almost top. Cooking time is 4/5. Beef is a bit towards chewy side, we never ordered again. Just went for ribs to be on the safe side. Sauces taste good and atmosphere is ok like normal walk in local restaurant. Drinks are free flow with main meal ordered. Generally it’s pricey because it’s a quality meat they claimed. Staffs are friendly and polite thanks to them. Well up to us what to choose and eat otherwise cooked ourselves at home.
Went there again today 6th July, 2019. The lamb ribs was very tender and juicy. Well marinated. The only thing that haven’t changed is their service is a bit off. I ordered a starter which is the nachos cheese but it was served last. The main dish for 5 of us, came quite later from each other where second serving came after the first serving is almost done. About 15mins gap. To my knowledge is... Starter has to be serve first because Nachos is just from a packet I reckoned? With cheesy sauce that is just to be squirt in a bowl? While we all waiting for main dish, till to date 😢 But it is always vice versa (starters always served after all main dishes is served). Btw, main dishes we chose which consists of lamb rack, chicken roasted, sirloin and tenderloin was nice. So this time up to 4 ⭐️ .
