Hello hello everyone! Solarance here and this time I’m going to bring you to this place called SS Waroeng. My sister recommended this place.
But let me say this first before I go to my feedback…. If you have very low tolerance to spicy food.. do not I repeat DO NOT come here… this place.. sells super spicy sambal that made me cry in pain from just one bite.. but if u still wanna try ur luck to test ur spice tolerance.. by all means.. but you’ve been warned. But the good this is, the menu actually tells u how spicy the food is so easier for you to decide.
Anyways, now that’s out of the way, let’s head to the feedback on the food:
1- We all ordered the Ayam Dada Bakar and honestly it’s humongous though it’s a tad bit dry.. Like really big the chicken can be shared with 2 people if you’re a small eater. It comes with 3 pieces of Tempe, side of cabbage and a slice of cucumber. Portion wise, pretty worth it for RM 10.50. But if you opt for the fried one, that’ll be RM 2.50 cheaper. However, do be careful on the side sambal they served your dish with.. that thing is a killer.. literally.. if u can’t handle spicy, I’d advice against eating it. If you can handle or want to try, by all means go ahead. Overall I’d give this dish, 4/5.
2- My sister NG ordered other things as sides such as Sambal Terung (RM 5.50) which has a Level 4 of spiciness.. be warned.. this almost killed me 😂 it tastes good I admit but the pain is NOT worth it for me 😭 but my mom loves it.. just push the chilli seeds away to reduce the spiciness. I’d rate this dish 3/5.
3- My sister also ordered a side of Sambal Petai (RM 7.50) that is also a level 4 spicy. Taste wise, good but spicy wise? Deadly… remove the chilli if you want to eat the Petai… I’d rate this 3/5 as well.
4- Lastly, she ordered Sambal Ikan Bilis (RM 3.50) which is of level 4 spicy level as well but for some reason… this one isn’t as deadly as the other 2. So it’s nice and tasty. I like this one better than the other 2 sides. This id rate 4/5.
5- atmosphere is comfortable and clean. The toilet is clean but they don’t have tissue there so better bring your own if you’re the type that doesn’t wash your butt 😂 though I’d recommend to the shop keeper please add tissue for hygiene reasons 👍🏻
Overall.. not a bad place but totally for people who are crazy enough to eat super spicy food.. but I’ll be honest.. this is not the place I’ll go all the time cuz my spicy tolerance isn’t that good 😂😂 but I’ll recommend this place to my friends who are crazy for shiet...
Read moreI discovered that Indonesian SS also has their outlets here in KL and so I decided to give the food here a try. The place is cozy enough with ample space and tables but I suppose the parking can be challenging at dining hours. Anyway, we ordered the 2 set meals. One with ayam paha goreng and the other with tilapia goreng. Additionally, we also got ourselves the recommended itik paha goreng and sambal sotong tepung. The set meals come with rice, tempe/ tahu goreng, lalapan (vege) and a sambal of your choice together with a drink of teh o ais or panas. The tilapia goreng was good although I wished it was crispier. It was well seasoned and packed decent flavors. The ayam paha goreng however was a letdown because it tasted bland to me. Thankfully we have got the sambal bawang and sambal bawang tomato to bring some flavors into the chicken meat. Speaking of the sambal, both were decent in my opinion and yes, it can be quite intense for non regular spicy food eaters. Moving on to the recommended itik paha goreng, I wouldn't recommend it simply because its meat was too chewy. The flavors and marination were alright but again, it wasn't an enjoyable experience to be cutting up and eating such rubbery and chewy duck meat. Lastly, the sambal sotong tepung was a good compliment to my meal. It has the sweetness that helped to round off the intense spiciness of the sambal. It would be great if the sotong was crunchier. Overall, I must say that they serve average Indonesia cuisines where some dishes are...
Read moreFood here used to be very nice with just a nice portion. However the quality are getting bad nowadays. Service was bad, I asked for ayam bakar, the waiter said it was unavailable, & and the set for tempe tauhu also unavailable, and need to replace with telur goreng. Hence i go for ala carte. It’s no big deal.
Many sambal was also not available at the time, it was understandable because I went at 7.40pm. Totally fine with it. Except for the waiter missed my order. I follow up on it, but nobody came to update us.
After we got our order, we heard and saw the table next to us that came later ordered ayam bakar. And guess what, it’s available! Hoohoo! And the set came with tauhu and tempe as well.
Upon paying, I said to the cashier that i want to comment a bit la and told him my comments above. He rudely told me to complain on google review so that everyone know. He just can’t except my comment and said they were so busy. Lol. He rudely made the remarks. After my husband tappinh his card and received the receipt from him, he again rudely slamming the metal cash box and went away mumbling about it in front of us.
I told him be was not supposed to reply me like that. My comment was made for improvement, I wasn’t mad. But now I am. Treat people with respect, regardless. Now I just hate this restaurant so much. There are plenty other Indonesian cuisine that are much nicer...
