Taiwanese House | 臺式老屋 | Cheras Yulek — Restaurant in Kuala Lumpur

Tried out this newly opened Taiwanese House cafe at Yulek near my house. Probably first F&B to offer Taiwanese food near our place. Ordering has to be done at the cashier counter and payment made before they deliver the food. So it’s not that service friendly but it’s ok for small group. The cafe is pet friendly and while we were there, three tables had their pet dogs with them. So be prepared for the occasional noisy pets whenever a new pet enters the place.

We ordered one ebi tempura rice set & one pork chop rice set. Both comes with soup, chili paste & cold cucumber sides. The food to me was pretty average. My pork chop was very dry and bland. Flavors only from the chili flakes I think. The rice was ok. The ebi tempura was dark brown and seems to be fried using very dirty oil. And the flour was hard. Taste was average too.

Interior was spacious and clean. Air conditioned inside makes it comfortable and service was prompt & good. Other than that food was really not up to my expectations. Prices are...

✨ Been wanting to try this place for the longest time, but always put off by the parking situation in this area. Braved it today, and got a parking right away.. yay! Small wins 🤩 ✨ good and fast service, cosy ambiance. They have like a separate, enclosed sitting area for pet owners. ✨ had the Signature braised pork (RM15.90) and salted chicken (RM17.90) QQ noodle sets. The noodles lived up to their name, with the delicious chewy texture. Comes with pickled cucumber and soup too (was like an ABC soup which was very flavorful). The salted chicken was crispy and juicy 👌🏻 ✨ add-on RM1 for drinks at lunch time. Learnt something new today.. The vibe felt right before stepping in with good lighting. Despite the price range, the shop is occupied on a weekday dinner spot.

3 cup chicken and braised rice set generous amount of chicken drumstick in smaller pieces really like the mushroom kimchi. The sauce was very nicely done their chilli is good stuff tooo braised on its own was average for me but the kimchi and the chilli made the combo nice
