Acceptable option.
The decor did separate it from other similar Kopitiams which I believe helped to attract more customers. The air conditioned part of the shop did improve the overall experience. It was warm outside.
Needed to get a number for a table inside the air conditioned hall. This was not well organized. There was no usher to help out. We took a number but there were others who rushed to the tables immediately after they were vacated. Needed to communicate with the cashier to get our table. Seemed like a half hearted attempt at that time to have an organized queue.
There were 7 food stalls when we visited. The main tenant served drinks, packet Nasi Lemak, eggs, bread, croissants, etc.
Food was generally from below average to above average. Nothing actually stood out. Worth mentioning would be the Chicken Hor Fun. It was quite delicious with portion more than big enough. The CKT was quite good too, price was very reasonable I'd say.
Wonton Noodles was above average with noodles texture not soggy or too soft. Char Siew was tender and not too sweet.
Curry noodles was average. Pork noodles was above average. Nasi Lemak from one of the stalls would be below average. The rice was slightly uncooked with the chicken hardened from repeated frying.
Toasted bread with Kaya and Butter was a total miss. Too much bread and too little filling. Tasted almost like Roti Bakar Kosong. Needed to dip the bread into the Iced Coffee to finish it.
Iced Cham and Iced coffee were quite good. Packet Nasi Lemak was...
Read moreAnother treasure in Cheras regions if you are Hainan-food enthusiast. I will be reviewing the food accordingly.
Char Kuey Teow: Fantastic, comes with a lots of cockle (quite a big size), and 2 medium prawn. The selection of Kuey teow is right, not too broad and not too narrow. The vendor did a good job in making char kuey teow with different choices of side items. But I opts for the original one instead.
Hainan White Chicken (9.90 MYR for chicken breast): My friend has ordered a chicken breast. He lets me try his food and it tasted so nice. The chicken is steamed in a right timing, with proper seasoning. Comes with their chili and garlic sauce to serve with your rice.
Ps: They do sell fried chicken, I couldn't really hear what type of fried chicken their sell as it was too noisy there. I'm gonna try it the next time I come again
Hainan Coffee: it's okay, just a bit too sweet for me and nothing outstanding. Lack of the coffee aroma
Hainan bread with Kaya and butter: Okay, quite nice.
Garlic butter bread with eggs: A little bit expensive for 7.50. However, I would say it is worth to try since their garlic butter bread paired with the eggs are "so right".
Overall rating : 🌟🌟🌟🌟 Price: 🌟🌟🌟(usual price as of other place) Food: 🌟🌟🌟🌟 Environment: 🌟🌟🌟 (a little too pack, but comes with aircond. Quite comfy Service is fast and efficient, we got out place straightaway after queing)
👎: Parking is the worst nightmare.
Will I come again? Looking forward for the 2nd...
Read moreWe were here at Taman Yulek to try the seafood noodles at Hai Ka Lang but after seeing the long queue we decided to eat something else.
We asked an uncle nearby where can I get some decent lunch and he said we can go to Chan Kopitiam so we went as it’s the nearest for us.
When we were at the Chan Kopitiam we asked another uncle what is good at this kopitiam as there are many stalls.
He recommended us to try the shredded Kai Si Ho Fun or the siew chau where the Cantonese fried is very good.
He said the char kway teow used to be very good but not anymore as it changed hands.
So we placed order for the shredded Kai Si Hor Fun but since it was almost 1:00pm they left with prawn ones so I still placed orders.
There are plenty of shredded chicken, 4 pcs of medium sized prawns and the soup was very tasty. But the hor fun was not as smooth as the one we tried at Sg Buloh where they get their supplies daily delivered from Ipoh.
I will definitely patronise their stall again if I happen to be at Cheras area. Really thumbs up!
We ordered the curry noodles but it was just average, since we were already full we had to cancel our Cantonese fried else I can give reviews on...
