Nice ambience for a night out with friends and family; spacious and well lit with ample of parking. However the service was terrible! It’s a place I wouldn’t go back for at least another 3 months or so.. until they have improved on their service and management of the restaurant.
Went with another 4 other people. Ordered some items based on the waiters’ recommendations but to our dissappointment (after multiple rounds of ordered) found out that the items weren’t available after we have waited for at least 30-45 mins. How could a restaurant not know what’s available and what’s unavailable and to have your waiters recommend them to customers we thought was funny.
Anyway after all those drama of trying to place an order, we had to wait for at least ONE HOUR before our food was served and even that only 2 out of the 5 things we ordered arrived. 1 other order didn’t come at all, so we had to cancel it, 1 came (roast chicken) but we couldn’t ate it as the chicken was stale - it melts in your mouth! And the other had to be returned back as it was the wrong order. The funny part was after trying to order 4 items in the menu through multiple order attenpts we were assured that our next pick will be good and is available, to our dissappointment they weren’t available. Ordered nachos as a starter to which we found out 15 mins later that they were out of beef con carne. Instead of offering alternatives, the waitress told us that they will substitute the beef con carne with more nachos so we will still charged for the same price. What kind of logic was that?!
Tried to discuss all of the issues with the waiters and a lady that seemed like a supervisor but they were also unprofessional. Instead of apologising for the mistakes, they came to us trying to find out which staff should be blamed for the mistake (they even quarelled in front of us). The lady who deemed to be more ‘senior’ dropped by and again instead of apologising to us she asked “so what else isn’t here?” And then rolled her eyes. We thought the attitude was unacceptable and come on, is that what you call customer service...?? We were told that it’s their first day and they are testing out their systems which we tried to understand but after trying to understand for an hour we just couldn’t accept it anymore.
It seemed to us that they are a bunch of people who don’t have much experience in F&B or running a restaurant but just wanted to ‘try it out’. There is a potential into making the business successful but in my opinion, customer service training (especially professionalism of the waiters and waitresses in handling issues) is essential in making this happen. One of your staffs mentioned that the test run was done only for a day with family & friends.. so maybe a longer test run with outsiders (real customers) would be good. I’m more than happy to visit if I knew that the restaurant is still under ‘test’ period and lower my...
Read moreThere’s a place in KL called The Billboard, because it’s literally under a giant billboard. It's the kind of open-air western grill spot that aims for relaxed family vibes and late-night hangouts, soundtracked by buskers doing Oasis covers just loud enough to drown out any meaningful conversation. You go for burgers, steaks, pasta, and maybe to nurse a soda while your kid runs around a table that hasn't been wiped since lunch.
Portions are large and pricing is affordable by KL standards. The menu is thick enough to qualify as a novella. Steaks, briskets, burgers, lamb chops, pizzas, pasta. Someone clearly thought “more options = better restaurant.” The food can be excellent. The brisket burger has fans. The lamb baconiser has even more. When the kitchen’s firing, the grilled meats are juicy, the sauces hit, and the plates are full. When it’s not, you might get a cold slab of undercooked dough passing as pizza and a carbonara that tastes like it came from the petrol station.
Service swings wildly between attentive and nonexistent. Some staff seem like they learned customer service from a YouTube video on 1.5x speed. Orders disappear. Drinks arrive halfway through the main course. The garlic bread is cold, the cutlery is greasy, the floor’s sticky, and the wait time drags on for over an hour, even when the place is half-empty. Ask a question about the menu and you're met with blank stares. Thankfully, others are friendly and sharp. The manager, Ahmad, gets mentioned positively, but he can’t be everywhere at once.
The live music, when good, adds charm. When bad, it's just another reason to eat fast and leave early. There’s no insulation, so the sound bounces around until you're shouting to ask for tissue paper.
Still, The Billboard has its loyalists. Bouldering clubs swing by after workouts. Families return because the kids like the vibe. Some come back hoping it’ll be like that first visit when the food wowed them. Others just like a place with parking, loud music, and...
Read moreFood was great, service below average. Went there on a weekday, got there around 815, the welcome party was okay managed to get us seated fast forr a party of 8. Crowd starts coming in around 9 and and it was full to the back. Menus given was not the same, some had extra pages of the same thing some were missing pages, took some time for us to sort it out and order our food and drinks, we thought it may take some time so we ordered some snacks to munch on before our food arrive, to our dissapointment the snacks were the last thing to arrive despite asking the waiter to bring that out first and he said yes he will bring that out, then 2 mains came out and the snack were nowhere to be found asked the same waiter sho took our order again where are the snacks he said okay let me check and thats the last we saw of him that night. The food and drinks were delivered inconsistently and had a waiting time between 2 drinks with the last one to come is the ais kosong and nescafe panas after most of us already half way through our drinks. The food service was not so consistent as well, they were brought out one at a time and had to wait very long in between the order, snacks were the 2 last thing to came after repeatedly asking them to cancel it since we already had our mains, still it came. From what I see is the problem could be the variety of the menu they offered, its hard to be consistent when you have a huge menu, the waiting staff needs to be trained more as well, communication was lacking between them, need to have more training to handle a big party as I see they are okay when it comes to a party of 2 or 4 people. Well thats...
