The Social — Restaurant in Kuala Lumpur

I frequent this bar very often, as it’s not too far from my place and it’s got a very calming atmosphere with music of birds chirping in the background and lots of plants that complement the place. It looks like someone’s secret garden of some sort. Think they did a good job with this outlet’s concept and design. I have always been a social fan and always schedule meet ups either in this branch, the OG branch in telawi, or the Publika one. If there’s one thing they could improve on, it would be their service. There are times I feel that I need to always wait for the staff to notice me waving and I find that it gets tiring to ask for water every single time I finish it.It would save time if they just provided a jug or glass container which saves everyone’s time, really. It’s less work for the staff. Due to this, at times I prefer to just go to Qra instead cuz you can just grab your own bottle of water and glasses and self-serve. This is very importantTo me. Another thing to note is that they don’t allow you to park your beer set here and it’s quite ridiculous that you have to finish 3 pints when you’re not in n the mood. They should be more flexible about this as It forces the customer to finish their drinks out of force cuz they can’t park their drinks for even a week and it all has to be finished then and there. This is really not a good thing and it doesn’t make the customer feel at ease when all we want to do is unwind and Relax knowing we can park our remaining beers and come back. Was in the area so decided to try the social. I like the vibe as we stepped into the greenery decor. I had the option to choose alfresco dining or head into the restaurant. Because it was lunch time I chose the latter. It was nice to know they'd a lunch set menu so me and my husband got truffle fries, fried squid, carbonara and pizza shawarma. They're all very tasty. I especially like the carbonara as it's not doused in cream. The spaghetti was al dente and more! Perfect texture. And the flavours were well rounded. 100% would order this again. I also like how the pasta came served on a hot plate, as it should be! Small details like this I appreciate.

I also am happy that the truffle fries were crispy and hot with sufficient truffle and parmesan (can never have too much truffle:)) and the fried squid were a delight!

I'm just ok with the pizza shawarma though but my husband enjoyed it. I just think that it lacked flavour but I must commend on the garlic sauce that came with it. Really good!

We also add on RM5 for bottomless drinks which I didn't know was bottomless but that's on me because I didn't read! I like how the ice lemon tea was actually made proper instead of some pre-made ones and the sugar syrup on the side was a nice touch.

Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed the food, service and ambience. I hope when we return next time, the food would be equally as delicious, and most of all consistent. All the best in meeting my next...

Food was ok, i and family who are regular but very disappointed with service and the new waitress (Shalini) who was way out of her line. When we mentioned service is poor. She said they are short of staffs and ask us to go complaint to the So unprofessional staff being employed at Sosial 163 Mont Kiara. Manager no where around to attend to this. This kind of staff and unable to manage managers spoil the place and the business. I being coming to Sosial outlets for very long time with my family members and friends. First time just bad service and i guess i no longer would visit this 163 Mont Kiara sosial out. This place dont have professional staff attending to customers now. It was a nice diner before but now having such unprofessional staffs spoils the business. The staffs there really was not trained well to attend to customers.
