Read moreMy husband and I went to Rebel for dinner on Friday night. We reach the shop at 6.30pm, there were no crowd. We were the first customers.
As we entered the shop making sure all the SOPs are being adhered to, the staff was holding the menu staring at us spacing out. ( not sure whether they are not ready to serve or they are being â no frill â).
When we finally settle down ( our 2years old son was with us) and ready to order. The staff came and took order. He confirmed our order with blinking his eyes. ( Perhaps I am not aware that this is new in customer service ?)
Our soft drink came, the staff put down the can. ( no straw which is fully understandable, but no cup and no ice for soft drink is a complete nuisance to me. ) for restaurant and cafe owner, my suggestion is always offer ice for soft drinks , unless customer decline it , donât expect your customer DONT want it.
So I have to order ice and cup. Again the staff brought it over without utter a single words still.
Foods came, I only have one word to say. SALTY!!!!!!! I canât taste anything except salty in my pasta!!!!!!!!! We Ordered chicken breast with peso sauce too which was so-so, chicken was too tender for me that I feel itâs not fresh.
Being a pasta-only restaurant .. I Thought they must be very good in their pasta but sadly NO.
Customer service?? none!!! They donât utter a word or say anything the whole time except when my husband pay and they say thank you. I think Macdonaldâs give better service then them.
PS: for parent who plan to visit Rebel with your kids do remember to bring your own child cutlery. I have to feed my son with the big round silver spoon.
I will not visit this restaurant again nor recommend it to any of my Friends and Family. Itâs such a waste that the restaurant is in such a good location with nice layout and ambience but the foods and...
Read moreDidnât have the greatest experience at Rebel. And definitely wouldnât return again.
Service: 1/5 Upon settling down at the table, we were thirsty as we just got back from a trip to the waterfalls. We then asked if we can have some water. The waitstaff responded by pointing to the jugs of water by the rack and said it is self service. Which is fine⊠but weâre wondering what is the charge for then. Unfortunately, that first encounter with the waitstaff set the tone for the rest of our experience at Rebel Pasta.
Food: 1/5 We ordered 4 plates of pasta. It looked great but the taste was left to be desired for most dishes.
carbonara: very generous with the beef bacon. However, it was a bit dry. Though palatable for my friend.
pesto: heavy on the nutty flavour. But other than that, it was flat.
Smoked salmon with Pomo-cream sauce: it was nice. Akin to mentaiko pasta.
7-hour cooked beef with red wine and grana pradano: the most disappointing dish among the rest. The supposed 7-hour cooked beef doesnât taste like it was cooked that long. There wasnât even a hint of red wine in it. And the grana pradano.. the amount given wasnât enough to coat the dish.. so upon asking for a little bit more, they said it is chargeable.
All in all, it wasnât a pleasant experience and would not...
