Came here for coffee and cake, and while the ambience is really nice, coffee & cake was good (though nothing out of the extraordinary) the service was a real disappointment. The 2 staffs attending me yesterday could use with a polite hello and a friendly smile as they both looked sour and ready to throw in their aprons. Service was not prompt, I stood at the counter with my friend and looked directly at the staff so he knows we are ready to order, and he continued to play with his phone. And when my coffee came, it was served in a cracked and chipped coffee cup (not only is that unprofessional but dangerous no?). So I went in and showed the server, after which he took my coffee and poured it in a different cup in front of me and promptly gave it back to me without an apology or a smile.
They should definitely get tips to smile here maybe that way thereās more incentive to be friendlier to the...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI look forward to my cherished Sunday brunches. If Iām gonna drop dough, it better be a bang for my buck. I followed the reviewed crumbs to this cafe and honestly, the question on my mind is.. whatās all the hype about? The beef sandwich came out mixed in with rare and overdone meat. Try taking a bite out of a sandwich with rare beef, it requires quite an effort to keep it looking like sandwich let alone tasting like one. I sent that back. The ālamb meatball marinara pastaā tasted more curryish than marinara and exactly the same as the ā creamy Italian baked kampung eggsā .. the base gravy indistinguishable between the two dishes. Man I have so many questions, but thatās fine. Itās a one and done. If it wasnāt for their saving grace, the coffee and spiced hot chocolate, I would have rated this experience...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreHidden little gem that serves roast beef sandwich that is out of the world. We avoided peak times and visited at about 3+pm. Itās easy to get a table at that time. The place is small with limited tables only, not very recommended for large groups. We ordered a roast beef sandwich after reading all the great comments, it didnāt let us down at all. The bread was crispy and buttery, the beef was tender and juicy while the pesto further enhanced the flavors by adding an extra earthiness to it. We also ordered the Hainanese Chicken Chop. While the chicken was nice and crispy, it wasnāt authentic Hainanese style. The sauce was mostly tomato sauce and was not enough. Latte was good though. Great place. Weāll be back to try out their other dishes...
