Okay so here's what I gather from my personal experience, me and my colleague decided to go out and have a quick dinner which turns out to be my worst experience so far as a foodie. Firstly, when we entered the place, I noticed that the place is very cramped and somewhat dirty. Secondly, I think it's their lady boss who took our order, her attitude was/is very bad and she kept forcing us indirectly to order faster as if a tiger is chasing her or something. I understand if they are understaffed but I noticed that they have plenty of staffs standing around. So in terms of service, it's a no, we didn't even bother ordering much cause she kept yappin this and that telling us to try this try that. The fact that we don't even finish reading the menu💀, it's a common sense to leave your customers for a while to let them decide what they want to eat and then order but Nuh uh, yk what she did? She stand there staring deep into our eyes and pointing at foods we don't even know if we want lol. She also doesn't wear appropriate attire for work. I know she works hard but her attire ruins the atmosphere. Food wise, the fish taste bland and full, the Kang kung shrimp paste is worse than the ones from mamak cause the taste is bland and all you can taste is the veggies🥲 but the Hainan chicken rice? Omg I love it, the chicken rice is one of thenreason I'm giving 2 stars. The other reason? The staff in charge of our table was very nice and friendly, he serve foods to other tables carefully as well. Last but not least, some of the 5 stars review without any comments are left by the staffs, ofc this is just my guess. Would I recommend going to this place? If you're eating the hainanese chicken rice then yes but other things? No. Oh and also, we ordered sugar cane drink thinking it'll come like blended but nope, it comes with a literal sugarcane stick inside and it doesn't even taste good at all and it cost 4.50 lol I can buy 700ml fresh sugarcane juice from Pasar malam for only 5 ringgit bro😭. (The sugarcane we drank was about 500ml including the sticks and water chestnuts but if we were to remove the sticks and the water chestnuts, it will be about 350-450ml so basically I wasted 20% of my money on a stick of sugarcane and water Chestnut that I won't be...
Read moreDined in with family during CNY 2025 at around 6pm. Walked in without booking but was kind enough to be given a room on the second floor without additional charges. The room is equipped with a karaoke hifi system. We were served by a lady boss by giving us the menu. Meanwhile going through the menu, we ordered a pot of Bo Ler chinese tea. We then read the menu and decided what to order. However when we were ready to order, we politely asked the foreigners staff to place the order but were told we needed to wait for the lady boss. Therefore we waited patiently, despite the request placed repeatedly in between. We still needed to wait for 45 mins before we could finally place the order. We understood that it was dinner time but to be ignored for 45 mins was a little bit too much. When the lady boss turned up, there was no apology given. To be fair, the food was delicious esp the steamed tiger grouper that we ordered was fresh and delicious. We ordered a steamed tiger grouper which is about 1.5kg, steamed tofu with meat, signature tender pork leg, steamed squid in Thai sauce and mixed vegetables. We like the steamed tiger grouper and the steamed squid. But frankly speaking, I did not really enjoy the tender pork leg as mostly were bones. Nevertheless the family bonding and gathering was great. The foreign staff were very attentive and friendly. This was our first time dining at this place. From our observation, We would recommend sitting on the ground floor would probably maximise your exposure to the person in charge so that your order might be...
Read moreApart from tastiness of the food, what most important a restaurant operator should put into consideration is CLEANLINESS. I can accept that the floor is filled with tissues etc, BUT NOT when the cutleries were served OILY!
I can imagine that they only dipped the cutleries into water or let just water run through them and called them WASHED. If your workers couldn't handled the job well, please get a dishwasher instead, it won't burn a hole in your pocket.
Food wise, is definitely a NO RETURN! for us. Ordered a Four Season Platter (四热荤) for RM188. I can only say NOT WORTH! SLAUGHTERED! But what to do, bearing the title of Four Season Platter (四热荤) which usually being served in a more elegant Chinese restaurant, we accepted the price. BUT PLEASE!!! The food served must be worth its price! Don't served RAW UNCOOKED food to your customers!!!
They were five of us having the meals, everyone felt that the big money bag wonton (金钱袋) was a little unusual. The texture was a bit soft and mushy, liked rotten. One of us spitted out to examine on the wonton and comfirmed it was 99% uncooked! (Too bad, most of us actually swallowed the wontons, prayed hard and hopefully they were all ok 🙏).
When we complained to the lady boss she just merely said "Aiya, you should've complained to us, instead of swallowing them". If it wasn't one of us spitted out, no one actually knows they were all uncooked 🤬.
In the end, she just deducted RM10 for that dish making it RM178. So the cost of swallowing RAW wontons was getting a pity RM10 discount. EVEN WITHOUT AN...
