This is really an odd ball as a small eatery. It is not often you'll come across an eatery that served "home cooked style" dishes suitable for the average to small eaters. Yes they served porridge but not those found at other shops or stalls. They're basically a family based cooking outlet founded by their mother. Presently there're 2 outlets, both located not too far away. Indeed they're not a big place with wooden tables and chairs. I would go on to say they cater to light eaters. Dishes offered are not wide or large. But do offer on weekends mustard green rice by the bowls. Cooking is simple though, stew pork, preserved veggi, egg & onion ommelett, fried fish in pieces, some other greens served with porridge or rice. They also do offer set porridge as well @ rm9 per set. As the place isn't crowded at most times, ample parking space can be found. Service was fast as some dishes are ready stewed. Found the place to fit in on those days when you aren't ready for big/ heavy meal/ dishes or stomach and wanting something different for a meal. Pricewise they aren't expensive but clearly cheaper than those found at those usual teo chew porridge stalls in KL. Rightfully the place can be reached easily thru Sri Hartamas into Taman Sinar. Yes this is the place I would picked for small light meal especially when rice isn't up to your taste buds and wanting something for a change from the usual and yet something not heavy and easy to Yr mouth/platate. The only disappointing about the Place is the atmostsphere, kinda the drappy but almost home like Would seriously recommend the place if you're a very small eater or someone feeling unwell or under the weather. I would certainly give their fried...
Read moreVisited this restaurant with a group of friends on a recent weekend, allowing us to order a variety of dishes to try. There aren't many Hokkien restaurants around, so as a Hokkien myself, I found some of the flavours quite nostalgic, reminding me of my childhood. Some dishes, like "Mui Choy Fried Egg," were new to me.
Overall, the taste was decent - nothing to shout about, but quite nice and enjoyable. The price was affordable too. The service was friendly and efficient. If you're looking for a place that offers a taste of Hokkien cuisine with some nostalgic flavours, this is worth a visit.
