Mini Lui Cha series (Part 1) - bloody good Lui cha in Sri Sinar. Even the elderly approved of this restaurant.
Once a Hakka Boy, always a Hakka boy - I could never get enough of Lui cha (we called it Lei Cha in our dialect)! If there's something that I can eat everyday without feeling bored or jelak, it will be this traditional Hakka dish which is believed to have its health benefits.
One of the restaurants that I rate highly is this Hor Poh Cuisine which is located in obscure location of Sri Sinar, Segambut. Normally I don't travel so far for food but their Lui cha is really something... Something that makes me crave for it once in a while.
◾Hor Poh Lui Cha - bringing along the elderly will give better indication if the Lui cha was good or not. Definitely their best seller and it was easy to see why - portion was big and even without rice (for me), the dish was filling. Soup was flavourful and thick... AND THEY GAVE EXTRA BOWL OF SOUP FOR FREE!!! ◾fried Fu chuk skin - the snacks that you'll see almost on every table while waiting for the other dishes to be served. ◾Yam Buttons aka Abacus - hit the right spot with the flavour. Probably the better one that you'll get. ◾Gung Bao chicken rice - the sonny wanted rice so this dish was his choice.
The sight of endless stream of Grabfood and Food Panda riders picking up the Lui cha is already a good sign. This restaurant has been around for a very long time and they have regulars who will come back from...
Read moreHeard so much about the authentic Hakka cuisine of Hor Poh Cuisine especially it's famous 雷茶 and decided to come with family for a Sunday lunch. Although quite a distane but using NKVE was less than 30 mins travelling time from Subang Jaya. Parking was quite okay on Sunday, we managed to find parking in front of the shop. Shop front is no fancy decor and interior furnishing is simple but clean and reasonably spacious. A 2-sided laminated menu contain all the typical Hakka dishes. Prices are reasonable and non premium priced. Dishes mostly with 3 options of small, medium and large serving portion. Placing order is simple and staff is very helpful and friendly. We ordered quite some typical Hakka dishes including its famous 雷茶. Dishes serving was quick, all dishes came within 15 minutes after placing orders. Dishes taste good and authentic Hakka style of cooking. So much so that we even ordered takeaway 3 serving of 雷茶 and 1 serving of 梅菜扣肉 😁. All-in, dine-in and takeaway, surprisingly it was totaled to only RM200 (before tax)! Despite the distance this place will really worthwhile for us to return for more meals in future 👍. Staff told us that grab delivery could be expensive due to the distance and food might lost its freshness when it reach...

Food craving is in me as a foodie. However, I did not know the crave becomes greatly intense when one is ill.
I was on MC and I was surfing the Michelin guide for healthy meals
I came across this 雷茶and especially the 猪脚醋。I was desperate as the food delivery platform showed * self collect only*
Being new here and I was with very limited options and I nearly gave up the order.
I dialled the shop and a Mr Sean answered and politely and professionally, he told me that he can materialise the order and have it delivered to me through Lala move.
He placed both the food orders and the Lala move even before I paid him anything.
Only when all settled then he sent me the total amount payable and the delivery tracking link.
I thank this service oriented Sean for the trust and making it easy for me.
I was feeling weak and suffering from the body aching. You do not know how much it meant to me.
Anyway, the food arrived and they were really tasty. The minted leave broth is thick and very flavourful. The soupy and full of vege rice make it easier for me to stomach as I have bad sore throat.
The vinegar is sour enough to enhance my appetite
Thank you, Sean,...
