Where do I start, seriously I didn’t expect my experience would be this worst! I knew this place since they opened, it was good back then but I ignored this place for very long time because of the crowd, so today I thought to give it a try again. Honestly, waiting in Que was alright but the waiter was forcing us to give order while waiting without even showing the menu, when asked if can add on anything later, he said I still need walk to the counter to scan the QR to order, I’m not sure why they have to do this way.
When food was served, all the side dishes were cold, rice was bit warm, all the curry was cold too. The side dishes were so tasteless literally no seasonings. Mamak shop at roadside can cook better vege than this. The cucumber raita, seriously there was no yogurt only water. Petola fried was too oily , and no flavor too. They had 3 different curries, I couldn’t differentiate them as it tasted like curry powder mixed with water. Add to my disappointment, the pickles and rasam were too pitiful, as they tasted so mild.
We ordered a fried tenggiri, the size was big but there was no seasoning , it tasted so bland as well. The only part I enjoyed is their drinks, Teh halia was good and flavorful. But I still couldn’t digest the fact this place listed under Michelin guide, seriously how do they even consider this as Indian banana leaf rice meal when the basic standard is not there? Definitely this place is too overhyped by foreigners and those who never tasted the authentic Indian banana leaf rice! It was so sad see people being scammed by serving this kind of worthless food in the name of Indian banana leaf rice!
I feel so sorry for my Malay, Chinese friends and foreigners who think this is how the Indian food tasted like. This place is a great let down guys! There are way better banana leaf restaurant in town compared to this, please try out Banana Bistro at NU Sentral KL, it is one of my recent favorite place and they serve very authentic Indian banana leaf rice meal.
Those who are reading this , please avoid Nirvana at all cost until they improve their quality, they are charging expensive but serving horrible food, hygiene were so bad, service was fast but when food is bad it doesn't matter anymore, overall its a very...

Read moreFood was overall not bad but I could still list some of its imperfections.
Banana leaf rice set The fried bitter gourd was fine in taste and texture but some part of the batter are not crispy and it’s oily when you chew it. The spinach (if not mistaken) was also quite good, it’s not so savoury but it relieves the greasiness as well as the cucumber salad. I didn’t really like the curry but my family said it was quite nice.
Next are the meats we ordered. We ordered the mutton masala, I liked it, the seasoning was just right although masala can be stronger. Chicken 65 wasn’t good, I would say below average. It’s more of the texture that I didn’t like, seasoning was acceptable but still can improve. Pepper chicken was acceptable but too oily and my family noticed that it was a bit bitter for the first bite. The papadam was quite good too(I am not particular at this)
Beverage The drinks were all served in paper cups, it’s not environmentally friendly but it felt to be more hygienic. We ordered masala tea, I would say 8 out of 10 for the taste and not too sweet.
Price Quite pricey but acceptable, it cost rm80 for chicken 65, mutton masala, pepper chicken, 3 banana leaf rice set and a cup of tea. You also have to add rm2 to refill the veggies.
Service The guy who served us the rice seems like he doesn’t understand English well, we had to repeat for a few times and his response weren’t clear. However you can ask them to give more veggies and they were generous for it. I asked for more as you will need to pay to refill.
Environment Not bad but don’t have high expectations for it, just average stall environment you can find in Malaysia at this...
