Bobi's restaurant — Restaurant in Langkawi Island

We had dinner here last evening and this evening. At first when you get in, the ambience and decor are really great and it seems like a very sweet place.

Last evening: The place was swamped and the staff were super busy; we ordered our food, the drinks came but it took ages before one claypot dish came out, then we weren’t given any cutlery even though we asked, and that poor dish was getting cold, while there was no rice or plates or cutlery. Once the cutlery came we practically ate out of the claypot dish itself (as there was still no signs of the second dish or the rice), then the second dish came and still no rice, we asked again, waited and asked and waited then finally the rice came; dishes tasted great but were already cold. And they gave us the wrong change back too when we went up to settle the bill.

Second evening: We thought we couldn’t be that unlucky two days in a row, so gave this place another chance. Ordered our food, asked if they could wipe the dirty table, the server walked off and never came back with that request, so I had to antibac and wipe the table myself with tissues. Once the drinks arrived, the table next to us (which was empty) before we ordered, got taken and four diners sat down, AFTER we ordered. We patiently waited with our drinks as more people entered the restaurant; another busy evening.

Then food started to arrive - NOT FOR US - but for that table next to us which ordered 10-15 mins after us. At this point we were like WTF? And then another table that sat down after us got their food and drinks served too. I asked one of the servers if our food was coming, he gave us a cursory nod and “yes”, disappeared and didn’t even bother checking. We waited and the next table had their food arriving one dish after another. By this time, it had almost been 45 mins and no sign of our food. I got up and went to the front and asked two servers what was going on, they just said it was coming but I could see from them checking the receipts that they had probably missed our order! We were so close to walking out, it was 9:35pm by then (they close at 10pm). At that point the food arrived, at last, tasty (but very spicy) and unfortunately the whole experience was awful. Watching others around us, they had similar experiences too, one table got one dish and then nothing for 15mins…

Utter chaos in the kitchen and the servers don’t have a good system at all. It’s a shame because the food was tasty. They really need to sort out a better system. I don’t think we will go back again, but hey,...

My family and I had the pleasure of dining at Bobi's restaurant for lunch, and it was an exceptional experience! With a total of 9 people, we were warmly welcomed by the friendly staff, who made us feel right at home.

The vibe of the restaurant was fantastic - a cozy and inviting atmosphere that immediately put us at ease. The decor was fun and we could scribble on the bricks along the walls with our initials (this added to the overall enjoyment of the meal experience).

As for the food, we were blown away by the generous portion sizes and the incredible taste. Each dish was crafted with evident care, bursting with flavors that satisfied our taste buds. The chef's attention to detail truly shined through in every bite, with a very affordable price considering the meal that you’re getting. Highly recommend the local delights, but do also try the western (spaghetti and burgers were scrumptious).

The staff at Bobi's restaurant went above and beyond to accommodate our needs, making sure we had everything we required throughout the meal. Their friendly demeanor and attentiveness added to the overall positive experience.

I highly recommend Bobi's restaurant to anyone looking for a delightful dining experience with delectable food, a warm ambiance, and welcoming staff. It's a place where you can create cherished memories with your loved ones over a delicious meal. We'll definitely be returning for more culinary delights!

Came with family after having good dining experience here in may. However, this time is it disappointing. There were big crowded during dinner so it’s understandable for the long wait. However I expect better coordination in term of serving time for all dishes to be served not too long away from each other. We got the Tomyam and a vege served without rice, quite some wait. And the last dish of vege served when we almost finished eating. I was telling the waiter that I thought they forgot my order, he answered that we didn’t forget but kitchen is really busy today. Well…..all the reviews weee saying this place has lots of visitors so I don’t think your kitchen gets busy only today. And the vege was cold (maybe not really cold but no heat or warmth at all) so I don’t know how long it has been waiting to be served. Lastly, the greatest disappointment was on the Tomyam seafood. This time it’s a big regret due to all seafoo not fresh, making the entire dish smell too fishy for us, even though the Tomyam itself still taste very nice that we finished all non seafood ingredient in it and almost finishing the soup. If the seafood were fresh, we would really empty the pot.

I keep my first review in may 2025 as below: A good place with nice ambient. Local wooden architectural combined with quiet surrounding, polite and friendly staff. Food portion is quite big, price is really good. Food taste was good too. I will return if I come...
