We decided to visit this steamboat restaurant after seeing many strong recommendations on social media. Since having steamboat in Cameron Highlands is a popular must-try experience, we thought we’d give it a go. We arrived around 8pm, and honestly, the journey there felt a little unsettling. The surrounding roads were quite dim, and the area felt unusually quiet. When we reached the restaurant, there were only a couple of other tables occupied—a couple and a small group of tourists—and after a short while, it was just us left in the entire place, which made the atmosphere feel quite eerie. We ordered the steamboat set at RM32 per person, which included a variety of items such as vegetables, enoki mushrooms, noodles, eggs, tofu puffs, pork slices, and squid slices. However, only vegetables were refillable. The rest of the ingredients were quite basic and nothing particularly special. To be honest, we found the meal quite ordinary overall, and it didn’t really live up to the expectations set by the online reviews. In addition to the steamboat, we also ordered fried rice and some drinks. The environment of the restaurant was simple and similar to a typical Chinese eatery. It wasn’t especially clean or cosy, but still acceptable. The service was okay, and aside from steamboat, they also serve other rice and stir-fried dishes, which can be shared. I feel this place may be more suitable if you come earlier in the day or during peak hours when it’s more lively. Perhaps we visited on a quiet weekday night, which made the experience feel a bit off. Overall, the meal was okay, and the setting was calm and quiet. While the food was fairly standard, it was still a comforting option, especially in the cool and breezy weather of Cameron Highlands. This place might suit those who prefer a quieter atmosphere. Perhaps visiting during busier hours would bring a...
Read moreThis restaurant is located on a slightly narrow sloping street in Cameron Malaysia. After walking into the restaurant and sitting down, we ordered the restaurant's special hot pot. The restaurant's simple layout, old and simple tables, chairs and tableware, is really nothing that can show the specialness of the restaurant at the first glance, and it is difficult to arouse the strong appetite of diners. The restaurant waiter arranged everything quickly and prepared a wonderful dinner for us. I thought this meal would disappoint us, but I underestimated the reputation of the restaurant. With the fierce fire underneath inside the restaurant's special made hot pot stove on the table, the hot pot ingridients are both grilled and boiled on it with only plain water and no soup base, and even the meat only uses pre-marinated pork instead of fish, shrimp and chicken, it makes us all ate with relish and forgot to return home. It’s no wonder that this restaurant is supported by multi race diners, and has been able to persist in years for a long period of time! All in all, taste is good and price is still within affordable. The fly in the ointment is that the cooking utensils used to grilled and cook food on the fire is fast thermal conductivity aluminum products that do not meet the health and hygiene standards of the World Health Organization regulations. There is a high possibility of developing cancer cell in the body after eating the food grilled and cooked by these aluminum cooking utensils within a certain long period of time.😭😭😭...
Read moreThis place is so good! This is my 2nd time coming here with my family, and it always makes me very happy to come here. It's a good idea to go early before crowds start queueing up.
We went around 6pm, staff members were very friendly and immediately helped us to arrange our seating area, food equipment, dish platters etc. The meat is my absolute favourite, it is very well marinated and best eaten crunchy and dipped in their sauce. The steamboat is good as well, portion is just nice (employees suggested portion size for us when we arrived). Their chili sauce is the best as it ties everything together, it made the meal.
Good environment, good ambience, and the weather in Cameron is great to have steamboat dinners. Overall very happy and this place is a must go everytime we visit Cameron!
(P/s tables are quite high so for me and my sister who is 145-155cm, we had to stack chairs to be able to reach the...
