Stayed at Hyatt with family. On our first night arriving we decided to eat at Kampung because it was the nearest. The food was slow to arrive and service for other tables were also moving slow. Ordering simple dessert took as long as the main dishes to arrive, so that was also a mistake. We ordered dishes to share: Ayam masak lemak cili api 6/10 (tasty) Satay ayam 4/10 (mid) Salted egg prawn 7/10 Keropok lekor 3/10 (bland) Gulai ikan 7/10 (tasty) Mee goreng mamak no msg 5/10 (mid) Mixed vegetables 4/10 (mid) Ice cream boba 6/10 Creme brulee 5/10 Fish and chips 7/10
My wife had the nasi goreng ulam. 5 hours later she was vomiting and having diarrhea. Had to go to KPJ at 3am for IV, vomit and diarrhea medication. That was the only food she had eaten which nobody else shared throughout the entire day. When we went to reception to just notify them, not even complain or ask for compensation mind you, the staff at the concierge still got the balls to defend the restaurant saying food poisoning usually takes 8 hours before it kicks in. Am I salty? Yes. Was i complaining seeking compensation? No. Did i want some form of action to be taken so others wouldnt suffer the same fate? Yes. Should the hotel staff show a bit of empathy instead of defending the restaurant? Probably.
Regardless, doubt I'd ever eat at this place ever again.

Read moreStayed here on weekdays and had dinner at Kampung Restaurant. Here are our honest review on the food:
Margherita Pizza 9/10 Soft dough with slight crisp on the edge with generous cheese on top.
Spaghetti Bolognaise 9/10 Good portion with tasty gravy.
Keropok Lekor 9/10 Solid keropok of Terengganu, not the mushy kind.
Beef Noodles 7/10 Delicious beef broth with chilli oil but the beef slices are dry and tough to chew.
Ceaser Salad 6/10 Was expecting a cold crunchy salad but got the room temperature greens with cold hard boiled egg instead.
Gulai Patin Tempoyak Istana 2/10 Ordered this out of curiosity due to “royal” name. The gravy is nice but the freshness of the 2 slices of fish is questionable as it is dry and probably been left in the fridge for quite some time before our order.
Excellent service by the staff as they offer a complimentary blueberry cheese cake after the patin...
Read moreRestaurant inside of Hyatt Regency. It faces the beach which is the main highlight. Woody decor & windy with sweeping views. Friendly & attentive staff. Rather pricey but expected being part of the hotel.
Ate here both mornings as breakfast is served here. Also ordered lunch while chilling by the pool. Food wise hit & miss. The majority were below average. Lacking in flavor. Some notable items would be their teh tarik, kuihs, egg station, beef rendang, roti canai & soup noodles. The fish n chips ala carte we ordered by the pool was really nice. Flaky crispy battered fish with decent fries. Went well with tartar & chili sauce.
Overall wouldn't return. Not worth the price. The views are...
