Sangong Charcoal Hot Pot (Gohtong Jaya) — Restaurant in Pahang

Went there on the 27/11. Food was really good and delicious. However, towards the end of the meal, while finishing up the lamb soup, I found an insect in my bowl of soup that somehow flew into the soup in the kitchen while I presumed it was being prepared. This could happen by accident to any shop or restaurant. They did say that they be more careful to ensure that this kind of incident doesn't happen again.

The person in charge there was generous enough to not charge me anything for the meal we had and they were so apologetic to me for the incident.

This is something really commendable and really appreciated as a customer.

Off the busy street at gohtong. This place is worth the trip. The lamb pot is amazing and is probably the best thing to have in the cold and wet weather!

Location is interesting, surrounded by gawdy neighbors blasting music, next to what looks like and abandoned hotel. Parking is plenty at the time I went and it was relatively easy to find if you look out for the signboards.

The food is amazing. Order the small lamb pot with lamb tripe. It was good at first for small eaters (2px) but we ordered more. Not a big fan of their tables (you'll know why when you go) but again, the food trumphs all their shortfalls.

Highly recommend checking this place out. It is an excellent addition to gohtong....

We had a wonderful meal at Sangong!! No doubt their Lamb Charcoal Hotpot is the best! The thickness of the soup and also the flavourful of this dish, you can really feel the authentic taste in your mouth. We order two type hotpot, lamb and chicken in separate pot, but the most selling is lamb. The meat itself like cook up for many hours, soft and and tender. Also we have oder some side dish, all are reasonable price. Service crew are very friendly and polite, always ready to assist. If they set outdoor seating, that would be nice eating hotpot in this weather. Next time if we come only order for lamb, highly recommend to anyone. No doubt the taste was...
