I had the most amazing dining experience at Thai-On Mookata in Gohtong Jaya! From the moment I stepped in, I was welcomed with warm hospitality and a cozy atmosphere. The Mookata itself was a culinary delight - a sizzling, communal barbecue experience like no other.

The quality of the ingredients was top-notch, with a wide array of fresh meats, seafood, and vegetables to choose from. Everything was impeccably seasoned and bursting with flavor. The unique blend of herbs and spices transported my taste buds to Thailand.

What truly sets Thai-On Mookata apart is their commitment to customer satisfaction. visited in October’23 during weekend dinner hours. I returned because of the tomyam mama mee, which had impressed me during my first visit as it was really tasty. This time was my second visit, and it had been a few months since my last visit. I ordered the tomyam mama mee again, and it was still good, though not as spicy as the first time. The tomyam flavor was still strong and savory, but the spiciness had reduced. The portion was great for sharing too.

ordered the Thai salt-grilled fish, but I didn't enjoy it. The fish tasted bland on one side because the fish skin had been removed and wasn't covered with salt for grilling. The other side of the fish still had the skin and was fully covered with salt, which made it taste better as the salt had penetrated into the fish meat. However, overall, it didn't meet my liking, and the dipping sauce lacked flavor. Most people come here for mookata, but I haven't...

Never ever go to this restaurant if you are looking for lunch or late lunch. The first time trying to dine here, they told me the rice isn't ready at 1.30pm. The second time, the staff told me that the chef had to work overtime the previous night until 4am (restaurant closes at 3am every night), I don't think there is OT and I went there at 2:30pm for late lunch and the chef is still not in, and the restaurant is wide open to welcome customers only to get rejected cause there is no chef. Pity that the waiter that had to prepare the restaurant just to reject customers as the chef is over 2 hours late.
