Chagee 霸王茶姬 • Butterworth — Restaurant in Penang

I will say this is my worse experience, first of all this is my first time of purchasing a chagee, I asked the counter lady most of them are malays and they facing a tough time to understand what even I'm saying and asking for, even I was speaking malay and that point. The most important part is when there's a malay lady looks a bit plump wasn't wearing mask properly she pulled down her mask to the chin and preparing someone else's drink meanwhile the drink spilled out from the drink package and I noticed that the particular lady lick the spilled drink from the packaging. Yeww so disgusting and disappointed. Last but not least, the washroom was placed at upstairs and I left my drink on the table and went to upstairs to use their washroom not even 5 minutes I came back to my table they cleaned up my drinks, like isn't it their responsible to give a good hospitality to their customers. Huh so...

The service attitude is so bad. Even the attitude of the customer service is also very bad. I went there when there is an ongoing event for a glass bottle at 12.50 pm last time and asked their staff when they would pick them up. They said that 2 hours later I went to pick them up at 3:30 and told me that they were not ready yet. They were not on time. Later, something happened and I didn't pick it up that night. When I wanted to pick it up the next day, the staff said it couldn't be done. I said it could be re-done and he said it couldn't be done. Being a franchised entity, their offering and choices are pretty standard. Taste should be consistent. So I suppose factors differentiating between branches will come to staffs, upkeep and the surrounding.

The advantage of this branch is parking, parking is very convenient here, most of the time, it will be pretty easy to get one. The decor meanwhile is pretty standard, you have seen one, you would've seen them all.

Most importantly, this branch is relatively clean. And orderly. I had a relaxing time sitting there enjoying my drink. Generally quiet and calm. I didn't have to wait too long for my drink and the staffs look comfortable in their role. Not a bad place to come and relax or...
