A upscale pork free Malaysian Cafe located in Ipoh city centre which sell all sort of Ipoh & Malaysian Chinese Food.
They located in a spacious Bungalow lot with plenty of private parking. So no worry on the parking space.
If you got a group of people & want some comfortable place that not so crowded & with air condition, & taste some great Ipoh food, this is the place I would recommend. It’s very good alternative for A Jie Cafe.
Please be expect that the price is at the high side for the food that you can easily get in Ipoh, but the food quality is really top notch & tasty.
Hainanese Chicken Chop really impressed me with the crispness of the chicken skin, the juicy chicken meat, & the gravy with good matching with rice.
The Kaya & Butter Charcoal Toast give huge amount of kaya & butter, & charcoal bread which justify at the higher price point at RM7 for single & RM11 for double. Put piece aside, it taste great.
Ipoh Dry Curry Noodle taste authentic & can fight with the famous one from Keng Nam (standard dropped over the years).
Nasi Lemak with Curry Chicken taste great with big portion.
Not recommend for Crunchy Butter Sugar Thick Toast, Egg Tarts below average.
They also sell item that can take way or bring back such as Instant 3 In 1 Ipoh White Coffee, tote bag, bottle white coffee, spritzer mineral water & etc.
They accept credit card payment.
Apart from Cafe Wonderland, STG Group also owned & operate STG Tea House Cafe, STG Ipoh Oldtown, STG Taiping, Little Elephant, Miners Arms Ipoh Oldtown,...
Read moreA new place. Cafe located on an exclusive road. I noticed the banner informing that they are 'soft operation' and i presume it was a soft launch. And they are looking for kitchen help including the chef. That being said, i will be very lenient considering the service and experience i had.
Food was not outstanding though for the price. For example the half boiled eggs on 'charcoal' toast was not as expected and sadly loses out to even the conventional Chinese eating shops. And acquired taste maybe but its not for me. Charcoal toast; you are so very bold to try that.
The ambience is nice and 'wonderful.' Fairly well set up. A lot of pain in the looks but the service was not up to standard. I wonder why all the staff are just standing around not sure how to service customers. Please look into some training for them.
Ample space for car park. A big open space in front. Sharing the property with another company as well.
This could be a cafe to bring your hi-end clients for some table talk dealings. Maybe that was the plan in the first place. Overall with the "soft operation" / soft launch there is much more that needs to be done. However, I will give them the benefit of the doubt and check up on them in future and...
Read morePros: The place is nice, clean and comfortable (but not cozy because it's noisy). The staff are generally efficient and polite. The food waiting time is short. The parking lot is large.
Cons: The foods, because they have failed to do the prices justice. Nasi Lemak - The rice is cold; the sambal is not sambal but some sort of sweet & spicy paste and I don't like the taste at all. HK Egg Tart & Portuguese Egg Tart - Crust too soft, taste too ordinary; to whoever genuinely thinks they are delicious, I'm sorry for you because you've obviously never had a good egg tart. Malay Fried Rice, Ipoh Chicken Soup Noodles & Cheong Fun - Taste decent but portions too small for the unconventionally high prices. Kopi C Kosong - Mediocre at best. Mini Curry Puff & Crunchy Butter Thick Toast - Not cheap but finally there are some things that are up to standard.
Conclusion: This is a French-styled (small portion, high price) fancy local kopitiam. The food prices with service charge are inclusive of the pros I listed above.
Will visit again? No, if by choice. Why? I'm willing to spend on pricey food if the food can do the price justice. The food at Café...
