I have always tried to avoid giving nasty reviews on Google for anyone and tonight I find no other option than to give this dishonest and rude business the lowest rating possible. They probably deserve 0 stars.
Went for dinner with my parents-in-law. We ordered a steamed catfish (baksougong) and my FIL seeked confirmation from the young lady that the fish is fresh, live and not frozen. The young lady hurriedly assured us that their fish are all received fresh daily. When the fish came, the flesh was tough, sticking to its bones, had a reddish tinge, and had no fresh taste. The three of us had taken about half the fish from the plate and my FIL decided to give his feedback to the lady to remind her of her earlier promise. She came to our table clearly unhappy with the feedback and asked my FIL whether he wants to return the fish, which he agreed. When the bill came, there was still a charge for the fish (which upon questioning they then explained that we had consumed half the fish). We can understand and accept the charge for the fish, but the rude young lady continued to make it sound like the entire inconvenience was our fault... that my parents in law cannot expect seafood restaurant quality at a private little kitchen that is their business. She even had the nerve to tell my parents in law that we should never come back (or that they are not welcome anymore). Wow, for giving honest feedback to them about a broken promise and mismatch of expectations, my FIL had to endure such rude treatment from the young lady. Before leaving, my mother in law told them that they could have been more honest of the quality of the fish with us instead of promising something they could not deliver... the fish was clearly not a dish any private kitchen big or small can be proud of. They should have been ashamed for trying to scam an old couple when they had already make clear their questions before ordering. Rude, dishonest business, rest assured we will not return to...

Read moreWe went and sampled their food 3 days in a row. Coming from a hakka, their food is authentic. The dishes are well seasoned, delicious and flavorful. Price is affordable as we ordered more than enough food for our company of 8 pax. The restaurant offers true private dining experience in traditional setting. Service is good and all staffs are attentive and friendly. There are good variety of food including vegetarian dishes like the fried lotus roots with mushrooms. It is one of the most unique dish with amazing flavor and perfect seasoning. Do keep in mind that traditional hakka dishes goes really well with rice.
