An old style kopitiam. Not crowded as it was near to closing time. They have one of the best fruit rojak I've ever tasted. Like Penang version with thick sauce. Very thick sauce. Would be perfect with some keropok (prawn flavoured crackers). Some cuttle fish pieces were in there too with all the standard fruits...RM6. We ate some lok lok (skewered food with dips)...RM1.10 per stick. Veg was sold out. There were some fish balls, beancurd, century eggs, tofu, fish cakes, cuttle fish etc. Wide menu for beverages. Ice kacang and the ice blended red beans were refreshing and not too sweet. Assam laksa was spicy, lacking fish and noodles were a bit too solid. I prefer softer noodles in assam laksa like the translucent rice noodles. The...

Go-to tea time place for Taiping locals serving lok lok, ais kacang, blended drinks and laksa for a light lunch or tea time. Service is fast and price is relatively affordable.

Lok lok is RM1.10 per stick and comes with two sauces- homemade chili sauce and rojak sauce. Personally, I prefer my rojak sauce to be sweeter and less savoury.

However, I find the ais kacang to be a steal- RM3 for a decent bowl of ais kacang with many fillings inside (red bean, cendol, jagung, cincau and peanut). It’s not too sweet nor icy- the proportion of fillings and ice is well balanced.

Place can get pretty hot and smell can be pungent...

Normally i avoid places with crowds and long Qs . But my wife on the other hand is easily lured by such spectacles . So , there i was . General hygiene in this place is questionable . Taste is so and so ... nothing particularly unique . It's all sweet and freezing cold . Customer service non-existant . Pricing not reasonable for the product quality and ambience offered . Overall ? Yea , come anyway and experience it so that you could tell others that you have...

Clean and friendly service . Loved the laksa noodles used and the broth tasted home made not filled with msg or sugar. The rojak sauce was super thick & there was a reduced sugar after taste which was rather earthy. They were really generous with the cuttlefish added . The umbra juice was blended fresh and the ice kacang wasn't overly sweet. Overall loved it cause it wasn't crazy pack and it was a peaceful and cooling dine in experience.
