To the owner of ipoh bakery, Those roti sellers on bike outside of your bakery, takes bread from you and sells it right? My mother (who is quite old and innocent in a way that she doesn’t question much) purchase the bread with the same packaging and tag as of ipoh bakery on Saturday (24/08/24) The wrapper the expiry the brand is 100% exact copy of ipoh bakery. But the bread isn’t from Ipoh Bakery. Upon opening the package it is of foul smelling rotten roti. When my mother brought it back to the seller,he just refunded her money and other roti guys on the bike claimed that it was a copy made by the roti guy. Do you still trust these people with your product? And the fact that the indian lady coming from your shop and claiming those roti sellers outside saying that it’s their own bread and looks exactly same with ipoh bakery. She mentioned that ipoh bakery doesnt bake fresh goods on weekends and only to purchase roti’s from inside the shop. I dont know who is the sick mind that copies and sells the roti camouflaged as ipoh bakery breads, but pls look into this matter as it raises a concern for the real ipoh bakery products and consumers health. If counterfeit roti is sold with the name of ipoh bakery, then it is your fault as well to not monitor them as they sell it right outside of your shop claiming the fresh breads are taken from you. Once the trust is broken, then you ought to have lesser customers so might as well take a stern action on...

I love the toast there and I am willing to drive to town just to buy the toast. However I wish the management notice that the woman that handling the cashier -- she might be the owner I don't know -- needs to be more easy with the customers. I was there this morning and there was an elderly indian lady standing before me at the cashier, and this silver hair lady handling cashier was very harsh to the Indian lady, come on, she is a bit old and slow, just be patient, why all the harsh voice and kasar kasar. The Indian lady even had to say sorry to the cashier because she was slow and confused, and the cashier accepted the apologies like a queen! Is this shop being too sombong now? When it was my turn, silver hair cashier keyed in my purchase and just tap tap at the cashier screen which facing outside to inform me the total price, while the Indian lady still sorting her purchase into the plastic in front of the cashier, I couldn't get close to the screen to see the price, so I asked the cashier how much is the total, she actually slap slap the machine screen again and looked away impatiently without saying a word. What an attitude, I am almost sure she owns the shop or is a family. I paid her and left, this cashier disgusted me to the maximum. I want to inform ipoh bakery, maybe you are famous, but pls don't forget your business come from the people. We use our hard earn money go to your shop to get insulted? Macam ni ke...

Bakeries and pastry shops are now a dime a dozen, with so many offering pastries from literally around the world. In Taiping, this long standing institution (established in 1918 says the packaging) still draws in droves of people to the shop, with offerings that have not changed in almost 100 years! Their cream roll is the one that Taiping residents would have sampled sometime in their childhood, and is still on sale today.

Along the busy Jalan Taming Sari sits Ipoh Bakery. You can't really miss it as there will always be one or two Indian bread vendors who are outside the shop also selling bread at all times. Parking is quite easy to obtain.

You may have thought from the size of the signboard that the shop encompasses both lots, however, it only takes one - the other being the bakery itself and also it's administrative offices. When I got there, there was a never ending parade of workers taking out trays and trays of freshly baked breads and pastries, some to be displayed in the shop, some to hand off to the bread vendors waiting outside.

The shop is quite modest in size, but packs in a lot of different offerings. Prices are cheap - and you can be assured of finding something interesting to satisfy your sweet tooth there. Also do try their Black Pepper Chicken Pie and their...

I came to the shop to buy the chicken pie that my mum always bought. It’s the original chicken pie. As you can see from the signage, "chicken pie" was labeled on the right side of the left tray. So I took one based on the label (in the green circle). Upon payment, the Malay cashier (fair skin) keyed it in as "black pepper pie." I asked to double confirm, “Is this black pepper? I actually want the original one.” She then answered in an improper tone, “Adik, tengok la ni, kan ada black pepper atas ni.” I told her that this is my first time buying, so how would I know the difference when I’m just referring to the label? I also told her, next time please place the label correctly according to the item. But she kept saying, “Lain kali adik kena la tengok.” Now, look at the picture, how am I supposed to differentiate it as this is my first time buying it? Actually the original chicken pie is on the right tray, then please put the label on the right side tray. Simple. Just please don’t argue when customer give you suggestion.

For those looking for something simple you can't go wrong with their loaf or simple buns, it's just amazing. If you're looking for some quick eats you guys can try their sandwiches almost all of them taste divine, my favorite is the egg and ham toast and the chicken wrap(though I think the bun wrap is a big too thick). Gonna recommend their puff pastries too if you are a fan of texture. Must try cakes in my opinion: longan, peach cake, but for me I do think its a bit too sweet and I do wonder if we can request for less sweet cake?Anyways,Must try bakery in Taiping!
