Louis Hotel — Hotel in Perak

Noise Cancelling - terrible. Before we check in, we asked the reception, is the construction opposite noisy. They said, "No noise, they are not doing piling." But throughout the whole day, we still heard knocking noise and machinery noise. Our room neighbours were also quite loud when they were talking, and since the room noise cancelling is terrible, i can hear it from the lift 15 meters away.

Aircond - Not that cold, the filter is clean, but the flaps have dust, we told reception to clean it while we are in the room, they said no problem, they will come up soon. So we waited for ....min we called, and they said: 20 minutes later - the housekeeping is otw after cleaning the next room 30 minutes later - otw 45 minutes later - housekeeping didn't know about the situation at all and said it's the aircond maintenance's job and said he would tell the person in charge 1 hour later - reception said the maintenance guy left, need another half day to come and fix the issue all the while we are sneezing throughout 2 nights

Room - Cleanliness Ok, but there's a few long hair with is definitely not ours cause we have army cuts. One of our towels is also "shredded." Wall ceiling peeling, toilet folded door is a pain to open and close as it got stuck on dirt in the rails. Toilet water pressure is absurdly high, as it hurts when i wash myself. We are on the 2nd floor or 3rd if included the reception floor.

Parking space have but is not their own private parking space. The public parking space is also dimly litted.

The staffs were all attentive, warm and welcoming.

I actually requested for an early check in prior to my arrival but sadly upon reaching I was told that there has been a slight hiccup with the laundry timing thus it cannot be fulfilled plus the laundry situation has also caused a drag on the hotel's usual check in time.

But I feel valued as a customer that the staff took the initiative to ring me once the room is ready as I choose to head out and not wait at the lobby as my kid was already grumpy from the long drive that we had.

The room is decent, clean (special points for the toilet) and well maintained with basic pantry and toiletries. The water pressure is definitely on the acceptional scale with clean towels, working heater and bedding provided. We also received 4hrs worth of parking coupons for our 4 days stay here. The location is great with plenty of eateries within walking distance as shared by previous guests.

The only downsize for me was the noise coming from the air cond and the maintenance work that we were not given any prior notice on (happened to be they had their sign board repaired/changed that took the whole daylight to be fixed).

There was also paint chipping from the wall next to the bathroom (I guess it must be due to water damage) with'em ants crawling about here and there (as a toddler's mum I'm always repellent ready so that was quickly put under control).

Overall it was a pleasant stay and I can see myself booking them again during my next visit....

Despite having a "classic" exterior, the interior is clean, the room is clean, and strategically located within walking distant to attraction spots. I had a pleasant stay 1 night. Staff were very nice, helpful during check in & check out. They provided a 2 hour free coupon tickets.

Room is quite spacious for a queen bed. No refrigerator, but they provided toothbrush kits, instant coffee, water heater, and hair dryer. The TV also have TV3 and some Astro channels. I like the soft toothbrush and clean towels. Oh, there also bidet at the toilet seat.

Parking spots are paid using Majlis Perbandaran Taiping coupon or app. But there are ample parking spots around the hotel building.

Four fluffy pillows, comfortable bed, and breezing air-conditioning unit really does help us to get a comfortable rest after a day walking & driving in Taiping. Some mold are visible at the wall but does not affect our stay.

Overall, we enjoyed our stay, and will definitely consider staying with Louis Hotel next time.
