THE place to be in Ipoh if you're after good pizza and spaghetti (one of the best I've had for many moons), good el fresco night dining, good service and great price without biting your back pocket ☺️

A surprise find when we went off to Ipoh especially for the missus who misses her hometown after a long hiatus. Located along the reinvigorated Kinta Waterfront, the restaurant is subtly yet with up-to-the minute deco, nothing over the top and especially great for a night out with family and friends.

Quite popular amongst the throng of visitors to the Kinta Waterfront and be prepared to wait, ie. queue..

I'd normally baulk when it comes to queuing and paying for your food but for this instance did wait it out as the almost carnival-like atmosphere along the river took my mind off it 😊.

Ordering and serving were pretty quick with only the oven baked pizza took a while longer. Try out the Spaghetti Marinara, one of the best I've tasted for many years and the cheese and tomato pizza, simple yet cheesy (pardon the pun) with tomatoes. Great stuff 🤤

Service was very good considering the crowd (imagine, the queue was still long when we finally got out) and the price, wow, consider this; it was much cheaper and much satisfying than the Hainanese Chicken Rice set we had for lunch earlier 😁

If you're after a good night out with your family, great el fresco dining and carnival-like atmosphere, you can't go wrong here.

About a year after our first visit, the place is still great..had good simple pizza. We came for an early dinner (or tea), the surrounding shops have somehow gone a bit slow but Miker Food still have a decent crowd. Still good...

Went to Mikers today with the family and we came with high expectations as we've been a customer of mikers since years ago when the business just started. Food was always great and we didn't mind paying extra few bucks when the food and service were excellent. However, today's experience was quite disappointing. We could understand the wait due to the crowd and we didn't mind waiting at all but service was upsetting today. One food came out one at a time and food was already cold by the time other food arrived for my mom and brother for us to eat together. The kitchen totally missed my sister's order which only arrived long after all of us waited and were done eating which resulted to my sister being upset as she had to eat alone while others were done eating.

We do appreciate the staffs being friendly though! One even came by our table to double check about the missing order.

Ps: The aglio olio was yummy!

Things to improve: Plating of food. Hiding all the potato wedges under the chicken made the potatoes soggy + plate looked empty and less enticing. Maybe utilize the space on the plate rather than hiding it all under the stack? ☺️ Blackpepper sauce had a sickeningly sweet sauce after taste. The sweet sauce doesn't complement the food well. Could be improved for the better. None of us enjoyed the blackpepper sauce today and we had better ones from your restaurant before.

Do know that my feedback today comes from a good place in hopes that your team could improve and do better!...

The food was a mix – some dishes were okay, while others weren’t. The prawns, in particular, were not fresh at all. Our drinks weren’t delivered in full, but the waiter blamed the system, saying the drinks we didn't receive didn’t register properly. We ordered a pizza at the same time as our food and drinks, but again, they claimed the system didn’t accept the pizza order. However, we noticed another customer who arrived later than us was served pizza, which was frustrating. It seemed like the system wasn’t working properly.

We paid a service charge, but the service didn’t meet expectations. If you plan to come after 9:30 PM, I’d suggest looking for another restaurant. The service was not welcoming for first-time customers. There were no signs or instructions to guide us to the counter to check in, and we had to rely on the waiter to direct us to our table. It would have been helpful to have clear signage or barriers to guide us.

Additionally, when we were seated, we noticed the two small round tables provided were not suitable for our group of seven. We requested a larger square table, but the waiter initially said another customer was going to use it. Eventually, we were allowed to change the table. If you’re a waiter, it’s important to listen to customer requests and consider their suggestions. While we were still eating, the waiter turned off the lights, which felt inappropriate. It was frustrating, and I wouldn't recommend this place to...

The western food i had here is probably the worst, the most unauthentic, the unhealthiest i had during my trip to Ipoh. Kinta Riverfront is a place with very good family vibes but the restaurants here just dont match. Dont get me wrong, i dont mean to generalise all the restaurants here but the one with the most crowd, which is Mike and Demme, is providing food with the worst quality possible, but managed to retain customers with its strategic location and liveband, (the satay stall beside them is supernice tho). Take the Chicken Parmigiana for example, they put so many unknown kind of artificial sauces on top of just slices of processed cheese, with deep fried batters…i just can’t describe the stingiest amount of chicken meat I got!(refer pic cuz i had to seperate the tepung and the meat, its too much) I understand why Malaysian suffers from various kind of health issues because they have no option and conscious either, in what they put into their stomach! I really hope management of Kinta Riverfront does a better job in tendering F&B licenses to restaurants or cafes that represent this spectacular spot of Ipoh better…
